Umm, isn’t he literally a flunky? You have to be beyond dumb to be a prized athlete kicked off your high school team for flunking easy courses and later drug use.

Very few American football players are intelligent. Most are functionally illiterate and also suffer from CTE. The handful of higher IQ players are typically quarterbacks and kickers/punters.

This is false, I’ve met a handful of NFL players in my line of work - off the top of my head the positions I remember are cornerback, safety, and a few linemen. They were all very well spoken, listened to directions intently, took notes on what I was saying, asked pertinent questions. You can’t get to that level of play without being coachable and an excellent listener, and these guys were that. Also they weren’t illiterate because they were taking notes.

NFL players all take tests for the draft. The results are public record. Most are dumber than rocks.

Albums take a long time to write, record, mix and produce. She’s always going to be a step behind, like all artists.

What we can glean from TTPD is that she has found someone who treats her how she wants to be treated - with respect, enthusiasm, confidence and fun - after being with men who did not. That is what matters here.

Exactly! Maybe she's seen that she was dating the wrong kind of guy. Travis, clearly, doesn't something for her and I can definitely see his appeal. I, personally, love hearing him express his admiration for her accomplishments and how supportive he is. Her success doesn't seem to bother or intimidate him. And, he's a lot of fun. I hope it lasts (who doesn't love a love story with a happy ending) but, even if it doesn't, I hope she can remember the what it feels like to have the love and support she should have from a partner.

I watched Matty Healy do a horrible pap walk in her neighborhood in September, a very shitty thing to do to her. She immediately launched with Travis. The album was sad songs about Joe, angry songs about Matty, and a couple of happy songs about Travis.

Here’s my take. Taylor is emotionally stunted. She is happy with Travis because he does take her back to what she imagined high school would be like. He has the additional bonus of not being overwhelmed by her celebrity. It may actually work.
