Umm, isn’t he literally a flunky? You have to be beyond dumb to be a prized athlete kicked off your high school team for flunking easy courses and later drug use. |
The phrase @dumb jock” exists for a reason. Some are smart, others🤷♀️ |

Uh, Albert Einstein flunked his university entrance exam (in subjects other than math and science). Thomas Edison had only a few months of formal education because his teachers thought he was too slow. Certainly not comparing Travis to either of those but you’re grasping at straws to be deliberately negative. |
Very few American football players are intelligent. Most are functionally illiterate and also suffer from CTE. The handful of higher IQ players are typically quarterbacks and kickers/punters. |
Einstein also didn’t talk until he was like 7. He was clearly autistic. That’s not Travis…. |
I don’t think the relationship is fake. I also don’t think they’re end game. Listening to The Alchemy is what has convinced me. It’s one of the very few happy love songs on TTPD and it feels so emotionless. I think he is super into her and she is into how into her he is. And after the messy Matty Healy rebound, Travis is a major improvement. I’d be happy to be proven wrong but this is my assessment at this point. |
What we can glean from TTPD is that she has found someone who treats her how she wants to be treated - with respect, enthusiasm, confidence and fun - after being with men who did not. That is what matters here. |
This is false, I’ve met a handful of NFL players in my line of work - off the top of my head the positions I remember are cornerback, safety, and a few linemen. They were all very well spoken, listened to directions intently, took notes on what I was saying, asked pertinent questions. You can’t get to that level of play without being coachable and an excellent listener, and these guys were that. Also they weren’t illiterate because they were taking notes. |
What I find less intelligent are people who continue to judge people for their intelligence and academic abilities from high school and first year of college. Not everyone develops a work ethic that fits them that early in life. He’s spoken about his missteps and failures and what he learned from them and how those lessons have driven him as an adult. He lost his college scholarship. A “flunky” would have given up and left. Instead he found a job so he could pay for school himself and graduate. I admire that more than I admire you. |
I think she is super duper into him and he is super duper into the publicity |
Of course not. Point was that flunking in school does not preclude success in other areas later in life. |
I think he’s teaching her how to laugh and fun and enjoy life and live - he’s teaching her how to ball. |
Taylor wrote a double album (31 songs) about another man all while pretending to be in love with Travis. ![]() ![]() |
I think booze is doing that- hence the functional alcoholic part of that somg |
