19 year old girl dating 25 year old guy

Anonymous
DD is 19 and has been dating/sleeping with a 25 year old guy for about a month now. They met online but became very close, very fast. They now spend all their free time together. She's in her first year of college but lives at home. He's a nice guy, has a job, etc but I'm wondering what he see's in a 19 year old? Men are attracted to youth, I know, but she's in such a different life stage than he is. I'm trying to think back to when I was that age. Is it okay/normal?

OP, your 19 year old DD is not a Tween or Teen (teen in name only). She is an adult. Just because she's still living at home doesn't change anything.

Are you saying I posted in the wrong place? My apologies, wasn't sure which topic was the right one.

No, I'm not saying that you posted in the wrong place (who am I to say that). I'm just saying that they are both adults, and at that age, it doesn't surprise me that a 19 year old would date a 25 year old. Especially if the 19 year old is a woman. Their mentality is closer than you think.

Keep an eye on her. I know that part of the attraction of dating older guys is that they can get you alcohol, rent hotel rooms, etc.

When I was 19 it was legal to drink alcohol so it doesn't seem too young to be able to do that. But I'm guessing that might be part of his appeal.

True, guys do take longer to mature.

Just a thought. Your DD probably likes being with an independent man (job, etc.) because she is still under your roof. He offers an escape. As to your question, he probably sees her as someone that he can influence since she hasn't been away from home and formed her own opinions, etc. Plus, there's the sex and he's 25 so that counts for a lot.

Why isn't she in a dorm? More access to peers her own age there.

Well, you've limited her contact with men her own age by having her live at home. This is what you get, no surprise.

Costs a lot more money to live in the dorm.

This doesn't make any sense at all.

Pretty much sums it up right there.
A 25 year-old guy sees the same thing in a 19 year-old girl that he sees in a 49 year-old MILF...starts with P ends in Y.
