Where you take preschool thru middle school aged kids in Europe to see castles and other cool stuff (not art galleries)?
England? Ireland? France? Which would be best? Can you recommend specific sites? |
France right on the Spanish border there are some along the coast. |
| Romania! |
| London |
- Tower of London, Hampton Court, Warwick Castle, Hever Castle. |
| Spain - (small) castles everywhere as you drive through the interior! |
| Germany e.g. Neuschwanstein |
| The Loire Valley and Varsailles. |
| Friends of ours took their kids to Wales and said it was great for them with all the castles to explore. |
| Tons in Ireland. And you can stay in some of them. |
|
Scotland has a lot too-- Edinburgh, Stirling, Doune (with an audio tour by Monty Python about the filming of the Holy Grail there), Urquhart (on the shore of Loch Ness), Balmoral, and a bunch more.
Some of it depends on what you mean by "castle"-- do you care if it's in ruins or not, or has fortifications (vs being more like a very large house with decorative touches). |
Depressing country and dull food. |
Disney Land, I mean Germany!
|
| We took my son to Ireland. |
