There has yet to be an article posted here with a death directly caused by abortion laws. The doctor gave her the abortion pill, to help her body finish expelling all the tissue, because that was the hospital’s protocol for first trimester miscarriages that needed moving along. In Texas, all forms of abortion are illegal unless medically necessary- including the pill. This isn’t a matter of denying her an abortion, the doctor failed her in using the wrong method for abortion- but the pill or a D&C have the same legal parameters

Democrats tried to make it an issue this election by getting referenda on the ballot in several states with mixed success. The only national issue for Democrats ifs whether they would propose national legislation to make Roe federal law. It’s notable that they have had several opportunities under Obama and Biden to attempt to do so but demurred. So not enough the Democratic Party truly wants to actually pass national abortion legislation.
