Matthew Perry was a little grating in the first few seasons. Yet his character grew the most, and Chandler and Monica ended up as my favorite couple by a mile. So I'd say he's my favorite, followed by all the women pretty evenly.
But in the end it was the pitch-perfect ensemble that made the show work so well. As a PP said, lightning in a bottle. |
| I forget what I was watching or listening to (I'm old and watched Friends in real time on Thurdsday nights, lol), but they did an analysis of Friends with the sound off to highlight the skill of the actors' facial expressions and body language. The assertion was that you could generally follow the plot without hearing the dialogue. |
That says quite a bit about the plot… |
As you likely could with all sitcoms. |
Could you BE any more pedantic? |
| The show was subversive garbage and the characters were beyond corny. |
Yep. Schwimmer was the one who received the huge pay raise over the others. He negotiated so they all received the same amount. |
| Jennifer Aniston is sort of the Taylor Swift of actors. She's popular and likeable but without an edge. |
Horrible Bosses, The Morning Show? She's had her moments. |
Agreed. |
I like her a lot, but get tired of her falling into her “Rachel” shtick and calling everyone “honey” in all of her roles. Gets old. |
I don’t think you know what subversive means. |
| I think they are all good enough TV/rom-com actors, some better than others. I would say Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston are the better tier. |
Isn't Horrible Bosses a bro comedy where she just plays a nymphomaniac? Hardly one of her better roles, and I do think she's a good actress. |

Has anyone seen the Tracy Ulman BBC sketch on the millenial support group that was given an assignment to watch friends to help them to overcome getting offended by and finding microaggressions in everything? |
