Kicked out of preschool

Respectfully, if the ADHD is so severe that he got kicked out of school then it won’t be solved by minor changes. Many of the parents on the SN sub have thrown the kitchen sink at it and are still struggling. I do agree with your point that early diagnosis is beneficial.

They found nothing and actually were “excited” to test a kid with great motor skills. We also went to a child psychologist who was useless. The solution ended up being to move him up a class. He’s just graduated from college (where he was a recruited athlete) and has a great job, lots f friends and a girlfriend. I suspect you’re in the thick of things right now but hang in there.

Very similar story here. DS was extensively tested with recommendation for placement into program for highly gifted. Also top athlete. School was a constant struggle, some teachers loved him and had no problems with him, others disliked him and couldn’t handle him.
We also went to all kinds of professionals, psychologists, sensory integration therapy, social skills training, etc. The solution was to make sure to keep him intellectually challenged and physically busy.
He’s graduated from the very top schools, married, has a strong social circle, a job he loves. But, yes, it was hard, especially with so many contradictory opinions, plus we had to go the private school route at one point (all boys).
