AFAIK, this doesn't count as a world record since it was a PVS meet not fully compliant with World Aquatics standards to count a a WR.

Girls and swim development. There is not always a huge difference between a 13 year old girl and a 15 year old. Age has less bearing with girls after puberty. The girl differential hits years earlier. The early puberty girls (11-12) start taking off and dropping times and you have the late bloomers struggling. By 14, it is a pretty even playing field with not huge improvements. Boys, that is where a 13 year old will have a tough time against a 15 year old or older kid. Boys keep growing until college. Late bloomers struggle and generally fall out of swim. It is tough to be that much slower for years. I think swim becomes incredibly hard for the boys at an age where it is hard for them to be properly motivated. |
There is no such thing as a world record for SCY. |
Oh yeah, my mistake... |
Yes. They also had swimmers from Marymount University time the finals sessions again, which is an amazing perk if your kid swims at finals. |
13 is not precocious puberty for a boy. Thatâs a medical term used for puberty earlier than the normal range. 13 is normal. |
It is normal for starting puberty/early stages. These 13 years olds are not starting - they are already full grown men with full height/muscles/hair. They started years ago (earlier than normal). |
| Who cares what midseason meet is faster or which LSC or club or site is better? At the end of the day it isnât helping your DS get better recruiting offers. Focus on the individual - not the others. |
Just stop. Your obsession with a particular male teenage swimmer and your need to post about him anonymously here is gross. |
A 13 year old boy with muscles is pretty normal. If he has a mustache and beard though, watch out, he's probably very fast. Tanner stages Age at the start Noticeable changes (in males) Stage 1 After the 9th or 10th birthday None Stage 2 Around age 11 Pubic hair starts to form Stage 3 Around age 13 Voice begins to change or âcrackâ; muscles get larger Stage 4 Around age 14 Acne may appear; armpit hair forms Stage 5 Around age 15 Facial hair comes in |
Good lord, you are being really pedantic. The point is that a 13 year old boy who is well into puberty and already has a man body is an earlier developer. And those are the only 13 year olds making finals at a meet like this (on the boysâ side). |
My son had some light armpit and upper lip hair before any of the other changes. There is no single formula. |
| All I can say is those 11-12 LIAC and Badger Girls are FAST!!! |
| Ledeckyâs mile was electrifying |
Meh? Yawn. Period. |
