Doctor more than 40 minutes late

No. If I'm the one taking up the time, I would want the people waiting to be informed. A plane can be delayed by unpreventable weather conditions, but they don't have us crammed at the gate standing and waiting. They let us know.

Don't bring me back there if you're not ready for me. If it's a true emergency, let me know. An assistant, nurse, or Admin can come by and say it'll be a while, do you want to get dressed while you wait? or reschedule?

It isn't comparable to an airline. These are tightly scheduled appts and that's how it works. The doctor is doing what needs to be done. It will be your turn one day.

It can be done.

I have to take the last appt of the day because of my own job. I’ll rush to the office just to sit for 45 minutes in the waiting from and an additional 45 in the back.

If you know it’s going to take well over an hour for me to be seen, then tell me when I arrive or (better yet) call me and tell me I can come later.

I’m also busy and I don’t have 1.5 hours to sit around.

+1 The excuses we hear don't make sense. If insurance is forcing doctors to see too many patients and they are constantly running behind, why do doctors offices never tell people the doctor is running behind when they arrive?

Also, why do doctors offices stick people in cold rooms with the door closed to wait 30+ minutes in paper gowns before a doctor can actually see them? This is pure lack of organization and lack of respect for patients.

Not if the doctor forgets about you and leaves for the day.

Concierge practices generally run on time. Because they schedule fewer patients and aren't cramming things in.
It is the insurance companies, plain and simple. If we don't legislate changes to the healthcare system, every doctor will go to concierge and I don't blame them. Insurance is in charge of reimbursements and the massive amount of paperwork. Sorry if you feel that excuse "doesn't make sense".

BS, you just DGAF about patients' time if you don't feel like telling your staff to give patients a simple heads up about delays. I bet you also forget about patients that are waiting and then get huffy when those forgotten patients threaten to leave.

That is so outrageous but I had to laugh. I hope the staff in that story were horrified and embarrassed but I highly doubt it! THat poor PP!

Ok, how is this even relevant to the conversation?
