Misstating age on OLD

I see a lot of people doing that. As for women on dating sites, my God, the photo filtering and edits have gotten way out of hand. It used to be just some women doing it a little. Now they ALL do it way too much. When I meet these women in person they are so far from their photos. I've never posted a filtered photo and I state the year of every photo I post.

Seeking women 15+ younger is overboard - any reason 14 years younger aren’t f..ble for you or not young enough? I’m OP and I wonder if I should put 44-45 instead of 47. Just because SO many men and women misstate ages! I don’t want not to appear in suggested profiles if other women who are in reality 5+ years older than me get more popular placement based on their age settings alone.

I was told by the men I met in RL that I look exactly like my photos (I don’t use filters). Almost everyone wants a second date.
I don't share that opinion. I'm 66 and I've taken care of myself and as far as looks, most of that is just good luck from my genetics. I can't take any credit for it except for doiing my best to avoid unprotected sun these past 30 years or so. I barely have a wrinkle on my face. My parents, when they were alive, and all my siblings look a lot younger than their real age. I've met a few-very few-women near my age I consider f..ble to use your word. So many have just really let themselves go. I'll readily admit that the pool of women 15 years younger who will consider a man my age is small, but it still exists and I consider everyone from -20 to my age.

No one should be lying on OLD. So shady.

This age shaming the young and old is awful.

I believe there should be an app where people are not even allowed to show their age, as long as they are over 18. Purely attraction based. Would be interesting to see how sexes would match each other then.
I'd be all for that if there were a strict requirement for non-edited/filtered photos. I think I'd do really well as an older guy who looks a lot younger. I've never edited a photo of myself but women have gone way overboard in filtering photos to the point that some don't even resemble a single person on this planet. It used to be that it took a bit of skill and the right software to do those kind of edits. Now they all have apps on their phones and they go too far, even making their eyes bigger. It's funny to spot sometimes like when one eye is clearly bigger than the other.

Post your photo here we will tell you how youngish you look like. I dated a late 50s billionaire who looked smacking due to darker skin. Now his face went sideways in his 60s and that’s the person who has ALL enhancements and good genes in his arsenal

The idea that anyone thinks they could trick me by a decade is hilarious. Soo many ways to get caught. Going to college in the early 90s is COMPLETELY different than going to college in the early 2000s. Entirely different experiences that would have you caught in two seconds.

Haha you would be surprised. I posted above - my exH faked his DL and was lying whole marriage. He was 20 years older, and I thought it was 10 years. He looked great in mid 30s when he met, I would not have guessed he was 45. He also was very educated, changed countries and numerous jobs so it was easy for him to have multiple cultural and historical references with a much younger woman. Men who do it listen to Taylor Swift to appear "modern", trust me

I don't anyone's validation on this site. It's not a dating site. Sorry for your billionaire friend. Drinking, smoking, and sunlight will do that to you. Or, his age just caught up to him.

He did none of the listed. You believe you look young but it’s highly subjective. Most men who misstate their ages do look way older . I asked some on video calls of texts - they confirmed they were in fact older. But wouldn’t tell me their age. So I guess I shouldn’t be telling my age to strangers online in my dating profile.

Do you disclose your true age before sex?

Either the apps should verify IDs or don’t require age, as way too many people feel like they can put any age they feel is right for them

Anonymous wrote:No, don't lie. Men aren't confused over what 40yo or 50yo women look like. They have women friends, coworkers, family members, etc, and know exactly what women look like at various ages.

If their *only* source of information on what 40yo women look like is dating apps, that means they don't have a social life or interact with many women in real life, and that's not good.

Also, any decent man is going to immediately unmatch you once you've disclosed that you lied. If he's okay with you lying, it means he's okay with lying in general.

man here, and i don't know the ages of most women i know - just not something i'm interested in or curious about. but maybe men on OLD sites do.

When I was dating after my divorce, I met individuals who were ten years older than the age listed on their online profile. It was immediately apparent upon meeting and a waste of time for both of us. Don’t do it.

Eventually, I met someone within two years of my age. We just celebrated four years together.
