The Atlantic article features the beginning portion of the book. I’m typically not one for politician books but I think there is meaningful stuff in here. According the Fight by by Amie Parnes and Jonathan Allen, Harris was forced on Biden by Jim clyburn. Biden tried to find another candidate but couldn’t find one that satisfied Clyburn.

Harris was the only one who could cleanly and easily take over the $90 million that the Biden-Harris campaign already had in the bank, plus there wasn’t time for any kind of mini primary. That’s why she was the candidate.

Serious question - why did they say “Biden-Harris administration” rather than just “Biden administration?”

Just like Pence and Vance, her political career is over due to her forever association with a very unpopular president.

My guess is some advisor told her this was a great way to distance herself from Biden, and that she had to so distance if she stands a chance in 2028. The problem is that it appears disloyal and weak, plus it’s going to oiss off too many people in the party. She’s done, which is probably good because she can’t win at this point (and I voted for her).

True, but the Dems haven't had a legitimately competitive primary since 2008. In that competitive 2008 primary a guy by the name of Biden got absolutely crushed by two legitimate presidential contenders. This was when Biden was in his mid 60s and gave an appearance of fitness and coherence. Amazing how we were duped into thinking that guy who was such a weak candidate when he was in his prime could somehow do us any good at 80 years old.

No, she is just teasing that she is going hard after Biden to goose sales.
The reality is she is doubling down on she never saw anything wrong with Biden.

No, she is just teasing that she is going hard after Biden to goose sales.

And Vance pretends to support Trump as if there is nothing wrong with him. If you sign up to be a VP of an elderly unfit POTUS like Trump and Biden, you have to do alot of pretending and ignoring.

No one except the Bidens and their personal staff wanted Biden to run in 2024. Biden was the emergency "Obama" rip cord in 2020. Dems had 3 years to find a successor.

The wealthy financial backers were scared to death of the thought of a Sanders and Warren becoming the 2020 nominee so they threatened to withhold hundreds of millions and next thing you know the "Biden is the "only" person that can beat Trump" baloney messaging agenda came to be. Why? Biden was the known commodity who play nice with the money where as Sanders and Warren were anti-capitalists. The rich folks got their way as usual. They and Biden are to blame for this second Trump term.
