You can see the boat in the neighbor's driveway on Google street view. It's also interesting that if you scroll toward the neighbor's house on street view, the lot changes from the current hideous McMansion to the house that was there before, which wasn't much to look at but was more in line with the rest of the houses in the neighborhood. It's a good reminder of just how out-of-place this house is. |

| For $3.15M a buyer can find the lot that they want and hire a builder to build a home to their specifications, no need to buy a spec home where you don’t love the layout or finishes (or the lot that sits next to the house with a boat in the driveway) |

Yes and No. while this home is butt ugly and too large for the lot it’s not that easy to find desirable lots nor finding an honest, reputable “custom” builder. Add in a heavy does of 24 months of multiple stresses and you may rethink? You would only appreciate if you BTDT. |

+1 - and I'll add that it sticks out like a sore thumb in the neighborhood. In a tight market/seller's market that doesn't matter so much, but that's not the market we are in right now. |

8000 square feet is too big. Takes up too much of the lot. Master bath fugly with egg tub [have to get a tabble to set down anything], ugly banisters, brown kitchen, 5 out of 10 flood factor in Mclean is a potential hassle so why bother... |

If you think the house next door is "disgusting," you must think that that vast majority of homes Americans live in are disgusting. I'd take it over the McFarmhouse Monstrosity. And I'd enjoy my weekend boating. |
