This house has been on the market for two years. New build. Why isn’t it selling?

It already looks dated. |
Most of McLean above $2M isn’t selling right now, period |
That is my reaction, too. So why do builders keep building these $3M plus homes? They just seem to be sitting. There are two more $3M houses around the block from this one currently being built. |
Not sure. N Arlington 22207 is similar - decent amount of new construction above $2/3M starting to sit. But of course the upper end in McLean goes significantly higher. |
And a fourth $3M home one street over. One neighborhood with 4 homes over $3M being built/newly built. Sitting. Someone needs to cry “uncle!” |
I’ve worked with the listing agent in a different transaction. I wasn’t the most impressed with how negotiations went so maybe they are dropping the ball on any potential leads. |
I feel like I've seen this type of house popping up all over the place for years now. It's bland inside so $3M+ and then there's all the money to make it feel like your home. And for me, not enough land around it - but I may be an outlier in that regard. We stay in our busting at the seams house for the large wooded lot that it sits on. |
Ugly and will age badly… |
Ugly and bad design choices (like the banisters on the stairs). |
This one near Mantua is similarly hideous. I can't believe they built this for general sale.

Soulless, cynical, tacky...and those light fixtures. Oof. |
I think I would have to be very depressed to live in that house. Like I had already decided there would be no light or color in my life ever again. |
Too bright and shiny. Has the feel of a fancy face doctors office. |
I feel like the McMansion pendulum has swung from over-designed tackiness to under-designed tackiness. This place has all the charm of an empty modern-art museum. |
