For starters, the recruit list was clearly NOT made by DG', as it's missing plenty of commits. For example, for M&D 2025 they left off a Maryland commit, a second USC commit, a Villanova commit and possibly others but I don't have time to sit here and double check. The point that Capital is good for recruiting has been made, but I would not take this list as proof of anything beyond that.
Actually does seem like you have the time to sit there and double check. Until then, we'll go ahead with what the list points to.

Move her to Maryland. Don’t waste the middle school years at stars and Pride. Come back to Capital if you want for High School.

Making the top Capital team is not a sure thing and many or most players try to improve their chances by attending the pre-tryout clinics. This is expected for players on the DMV teams, so nobody is surprised when they show up. But when a player from a top MD team shows up at the clinics word gets out and this has the potential to create some drama. It becomes difficult to go all-in on the Capital tryout process while still maintaining good standing on the MD club. I’m not suggesting this never happens, but there are more complexities for a MD player than a DMV player. For a 2030 already on a top MD team it would be best to take the ride all the way to the end. If a player really wants to play for Capital in HS then staying on a (good) local team for MS is the best path.

Given the Capital recruiting stats it makes no sense for a strong DMV player to move to MD.

2 main reasons for a player to move to a MD team:

Pride and Stars.

For recruiting, you still have to be a strong player, being on capital doesn’t guarantee you anything. As others have said, a lot of these players are getting little to no money from schools with rosters of 30-40+

This shows you don’t know anything. Any player committing within the first month after 9/1 is getting money. Nearly every member of Capital Blue’s entire team over the past three years have committed within this timeframe. That may not be the case at whatever club your kid’s on, but it is very much the case at Capital.

Getting 10% at Florida along with everyone else doesn’t make you special. Louder for those in the back. You have to be able to play to get recruited.

If that’s the best your team’s players are getting I feel bad for you. Capital players are getting way more than that. And there’s no question that’s happening bec those players are getting locked up within the first month. They have to be great players to get committed that early - if coaches only wanted them for their awesome grades those commitments would drift deep into the winter and following spring. Which isn’t happening.

It doesn’t matter how many times you say it - you’ll be wrong every time. I’d say do your homework but you’re here to influence not educate, we get that. Never said Cap players are special; simply challenging your inaccurate statements with facts. The second hand embarrassment we’re getting from your “Louder for those in the back” reference (which you use constantly) is real, but since you asked:

*Cap players committing within the first month are receiving scholarship offers on par with players from other teams across the country.

* Since 2023, Cap Blue teams have committed nearly every one of their players as of Oct 1.

* Over the past three years, Capital has committed 2X the number of players to both top 20 schools and ivies than Hero’s, and committed roughly 1.5X the number of players to top 20 schools than M&D.

Thanks cap groupie. Come back here when the 27 and 28a go through recruiting. Going to be real lackluster

Capital players will get some money and some may get some playing time at good schools. Not really generating many “stars” here in the DMV. It’s fine though, there is no pot of gold after college to chase.

As much as you purport to be and wear it on your sleeve, you are not a professional talent evaluator and projector for 8th and 9th grade girls lacrosse.
Hope you have a side gig.

Actually I don't have time which is why I didn't double check Hero's and M&D for each year presented. I have no doubt the original poster made sure to get the Cap commitments right, so I wouldn't need to bother there. Anyway, you do whatever you want with the cherry picked data presented to you.

Yes, said we'll use the data presented. Only you are calling it cherry picked, you stand alone. We'll give M&D one more top 20 commit.

It is curious that Hero’s and M&D generally have better teams yet Capital seems to get more girls in college?

I’ll use a term that will resonate with you: “Louder for those in the back” … Once again, all info was sourced from Inside Lacrosse. I’m not under contract with DCUM (or you) to cross reference data sets. Everyone cites IL college rankings as gospel, they are obviously a trustworthy source. If clubs don’t update that source, that’s on them. Haven’t heard one Hero’s parent challenge a thing (and they are quite vocal here), which tells me their commit data is correct. Maybe M&D should be better at updating these sites. Maybe you could help them instead of coming on here and complaining. Even with the one additional T20 commit you mention, the stats aren’t materially different and the trends stated remain factually accurate. Missing one commit hardly constitutes “cherry picking.”

Someone wanted to know why Hero's and M&D has fallen off based on the data presented and a quick glance at the actual commits for one of the teams represented by the data showed that it wasn't accurate enough to be drawing such conclusions. Ultimately, I really don't care one way or the other who updates their commit list and what data you use. As I said initially, it's clear the actual point of this discussion is to make Capital Blue parents feel good about how well positioned they are for the future, and that point has been sufficiently made by the information presented. Congratulations on your DD's future success.

I think what you meant to say was it wasn't accurate enough FOR YOU to be drawing such conclusions. FTFY.

Capital produces resume kids. They have the right credentials. Parents make certain kids check all the boxes. That won't change. Very few difference makers but that is the nature of difference makers, they are rare. Actually capital doesn't do squat. Capital parents and players produce the product. Capital just takes the credit.

Correct; was not developed by DG. But I appreciated the material.

Your thesis is right but the statement premise is incorrect. Only one T20 commit was found to be missing for M&D. No one has challenged the integrity of the data presented for Capital or for Hero’s. Trends stated remain accurate and defendable.

DG is irrelevant and just a former Pride dad indulging in orange and blue cupcakes at this point

You have it twisted. Have you looked at Capital’s social media or website? They don’t promote any of their commits. Or singings. Unlike Hero’s and M&D that post and promote everywhere. So tell us - what credit is Capital taking??
