America’s breakfast prayers have been answered. On Oct. 6, McDonald’s will roll out all-day breakfast nationwide.

The chain’s franchisees approved the change last week, and the franchisee leadership council voted it in today. The chain has been testing all day breakfast in select markets this year.

The all-day breakfast menu will be a simplified version of the chain’s morning offerings that will include either Egg McMuffins or biscuit sandwiches — depending on the region — and sausage burritos and hot cakes, reported the Wall Street Journal.

McDonald’s has been struggling against weak sales in the U.S. The addition of breakfast items to the afternoon menu could help boost sales by 2.5% a year, reported Bloomberg, citing a corporate presentation. Breakfast currently makes up about a quarter of the company’s U.S. sales.

The breakfast items are among the unhealthiest on the menu in terms of high fat and calories, and low protein, I think.

Donald Trump, as President, and all day breakfast from McDonalds? What a country, and what a time to be alive!

Anyone that eats anything from Mcdonalds, should rethink their nutritional goals.

Oh, but the biscuit sandwiches are the tastiest.

It's called eating in moderation

Actually, the Egg McMuffin is one of the healthiest on the menu. If you want to slim it down ask them to make it without the cheese. There is even an all-egg white "secret menu" version that my yolk-hating kid loves.

Most people don't go to McDonalds to meet nutritional goals. They go because it is fast food that tastes good.

There are better things that you can eat in moderation...If you want to consume junk, by all means go ahead. It's not doing you any favors, even in moderation.

750 mg of salt in one mcmuffin, yikes

I stopped eating fast food after college, but did you know you can ask them to cook you a real egg (sunny side up style) instead of that square block of egg? You have to ask for it though

Nothing from MacDonalds tastes good. Seriously. There is other stuff out there that doesn't have that funky "unique" MacDonalds taste.

As someone said, it is about moderation. I rarely eat fast food now, and the prices are really ridiculous now. You can get better deals at 7-11 to be honest.
