I like them both. I have a coveted Cocomotion and I bring it out every time it snows.

McDonalds hot chocolate, however, reminds me of being a little girl taking a road trip to Disney World with my parents in the 1970s. My dad would bring Mcdonald's coffee for himself and my mom and a hot chocolate for 5 year old me.

I don't generally eat mcdonalds but I craved it like crazy when I was pregnant with my now 11 yr old. I had HG and vomited like 25x a day and lost tons of weight in the first tri. I always marvel at how she turned out. She's healthy and strong and smart and conventionally pretty and a top athlete, but she's made of mcdonalds sausage biscuits.

Most people don't go to McDonalds to meet nutritional goals. They go because it is fast food that tastes good.

Yes I know, thats why America is such a fat country.

When I lived in Europe my cousin and I ate an egg Mcmuffin every Saturday. Americans are fat because they drive everywhere.

It really does not taste good to me, it tastes cheap and yucky. I'm not a health nut, and enjoy an occasional burger and fries from a diner, but McDonald's just tastes gross to me.

Nope, plenty of studies to suggest otherwise... driving is a factor in most developed countries. Europe is also catching up to america now in terms of obesity. There is a direct correlation between fast food and obesity (and insulin resistance!)

Actually, the Egg McMuffin is one of the healthiest on the menu. If you want to slim it down ask them to make it without the cheese. There is even an all-egg white "secret menu" version that my yolk-hating kid loves.

750 mg of salt in one mcmuffin, yikes

Out of 2700 mg a day, that isn't much.

I am on a lower sodium diet (1500 mg a day) and I can still have the occasional Egg McMuffin.

According to Mayo-clinic: "The Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommend limiting sodium to less than 2,300 mg a day — or 1,500 mg if you're age 51 or older, or if you are black, or if you have high blood pressure, diabetes or chronic kidney disease. Keep in mind that these are upper limits, and less is usually best, especially if you're sensitive to the effects of sodium. If you aren't sure how much sodium your diet should include, talk to your doctor or dietitian."

Those guidelines have been in place for 5+ years now...~1/3 of the upper limit of daily sodium from one muffin is a tad high. Especially since for many people breakfast is the smallest meal of the day.

An occasional food splurge is fine...I'm speaking more towards those that do this daily.

I'm sorry, was anyone here talking about doing this daily?

Lots of people do it daily. Do you have an issue with trying to inform people in case they don't know general health guide lines?...If you don't do it daily that's great, but as I said you are not who I was targeting. I'm sure many of the people on here exceed 2300 mg of salt a day, with or without Mcdonalds. It adds up pretty quickly.

I think you're fairly to mostly unfamiliar with the general population inhabiting this forum. I have eaten McDonald's once in the past six months and I think that's more than a lot of people who post here.
