Sure it happens, and at times it's only about race but guess what, it has happened to me several times and I am not black. But where is the link here to dwb? "“He saw Michigan plates,” Felton says. “He just needed a reason."

My DH definitely has been pulled over for DWB. On the same stretch of road that I (white) drive every day never pulled over, he's been pulled over three or four times. I drive more aggressively in a Japanese car, he drives the speed limit in a German car. There's really no other way to explain it. It pisses me off.

If you can't tell from the title of "Ohio cop tells black man he tailed him and pulled him over for ‘direct eye contact'" then you aren't very worldly and are probably white. This is most definitely a case of DWB. Just because police will do this to some whites on occasion, does not mean that there isn't a huge racial profiling problem in this country and that it doesn't happen disproportionately to blacks. There are at least 4 times as many whites in this country as blacks and the number of white drivers is probably close to 8-10 times the number of black drivers, but the fact that these types of traffic stops happen significantly more often to black drivers than white drivers should tell you that there is a huge problem with racial profiling and DWB pullovers.

BTW, putting the man's race in the headline and then nothing in the story to justify that it was a racist act is a form of racism. Why? Using race to promote a story.

And as I said, Sure it happens and at times it's about race but it's people like you that are hurting, not helping, the cause.

Might be sexism. More men are given tickets than women. Some studies show men receive almost 2/3rds of the tickets. My wife isn't a very good driver and she has been pulled over and ticketed once in the past 10 to 15 years. That's driving between 20 and 25,000 miles.

So, maybe he did get pulled over a time or maybe even two for DWB and the rest were because he is a man.

I've gotten pulled over a lot, and have gotten a lot of tickets in my day. And, when I get pulled over, I quite often have gotten hostile, belligerent and defensive with cops. But that said, even Sandra Bland and most of the other "innocent blacks pulled over for driving while black" put me to shame where it comes to being hostile and mouthing off at cops. Being pulled over is one thing. Mouthing off and giving cops shit is another. And I know from experience.

Sandra Bland was not pulled over for DWB. In fact they pulled the officers stats and there was a solid balance.

I just want to say that I'm a white person who recognizes this as a real, unjust, dangerous and deadly reality. I will do whatever I can to help change it. It is a shameful practice, and I am ashamed and saddened by it.

It's hard to quantify. The Rand Corporation did a study covering an area that got a lot of complaints about racial profiling in traffic stops.

If anything, this comparison suggests “reverse” racial profiling, because it shows that non-black drivers are disproportionately stopped during daylight when visibility is high. "

Exactly and this is why arguing against the ruling class is futile. If they say 2 + 2 = 5 then subjugates need to shut up and accept their findings because there is no argument against wealth and power.

It's not exactly the American spirit to see an unjust reality and accept it. Not accepting injustices is how we founded and made steps toward perfecting this nation. I'm white, and I find racial profiling unacceptable. Blacks and all of us should create a new reality instead of accepting this unfair one.

Can you detail ways in which the study was poorly conducted in such a way as to produce erroneous results? Or does the data just not fit with what you want to believe?
