(DWB) Driving While Black

It is what it is. I don't question police or policies or surveys.

This whole movement encourages more mouthing off to cops and is a path to nowhere.

A little yes sir goes a long way for all colors in a traffic stop.

Yeah. In Soviet Russia, the police do the questioning!

This isn't a socialist society we have a hierarchy there is a ruling class. It is what it is.

The lazy, ur enlightened response to injustice is acceptance and, thereby, complicity. I'll follow the example of our founders, suffragettes, and civil rights leaders. The gay community didn't accept status quo, and just won a major victory!

Can't look at someone and tell they're gay harder for the ruling class to pin them down plus many gays are part of the ruling class not so for me and mine. It is what it is.

OMG. So, President Obama is not part of the ruling class?
Get over your victimhood.

Sure it happens, and at times it's only about race but guess what, it has happened to me several times and I am not black. But where is the link here to dwb? "“He saw Michigan plates,” Felton says. “He just needed a reason."

If you can't tell from the title of "Ohio cop tells black man he tailed him and pulled him over for ‘direct eye contact'" then you aren't very worldly and are probably white. This is most definitely a case of DWB. Just because police will do this to some whites on occasion, does not mean that there isn't a huge racial profiling problem in this country and that it doesn't happen disproportionately to blacks. There are at least 4 times as many whites in this country as blacks and the number of white drivers is probably close to 8-10 times the number of black drivers, but the fact that these types of traffic stops happen significantly more often to black drivers than white drivers should tell you that there is a huge problem with racial profiling and DWB pullovers.

Man, racism must be on a big decline if you have to dredge up something like this to bitch about. Using people like Brown and Bland as examples.

BTW, putting the man's race in the headline and then nothing in the story to justify that it was a racist act is a form of racism. Why? Using race to promote a story.

And as I said, Sure it happens and at times it's about race but it's people like you that are hurting, not helping, the cause.

The main racists in America in 2015 are non-white.

Ask Vesterthug.

I'm accepting my place not claiming any victimhood. I'm not wallowing in poverty and struggling with a criminal history I'm a model successful citizen but I realize my complexion can be a curse if I step out of line that's just reality so I'm encouraging conformity and caution. What's wrong with that?

Because ANYONE can get in trouble if they step out of line. It is not the color of your skin that makes a difference. It is your behavior.

And I have every intention of staying in my lane what's the problem?

The guy in the video did not step out of line. He was polite. He followed the law. I'm white and never get that kind of treatment.

Life isn't fair.
We're not owed anything by anyone or any establishment but we owe it to ourselves to accept the truth.
It is what it is.

The RAND study is quite interesting and I will take a closer look at it. Thanks for posting. Please note, however, that the last sentence says that the results apply only to Oakland.

Really? The cops are allowed to stop me for making eye contact? I have to pay taxes for that kind of treatment?
