Do you judge people by the wine they drink?

Are some wines considered to be of higher class/taste than others?

I'd love to hear thoughts on this for both whites and reds...GO!

I judge a little if they only drink sweet stuff. Otherwise people like what they like. If your only drinking sweet wine then you're not really getting the whole depth of flavor of the wine but then again some people just don't like that. If you only drink super expensive stuff then I judge and think that you're pretentious and haven't tried enough hings and only drink it for the label.

You have to drink a lot of wine and have a pretty sensitive palate to tell the difference between a 10 bottle a 20-30 bottle (on verge of course). Drink what you like, life is short.

Nope. My favorite are sweet fruit wines (I am from a region of the country where they are grown and made at lots of small wineries). I don't particularly care for dry wines. So I have no desire to judge others!

I'm from a wine producing country and there everyone is all about the wine snobbery. This vineyard is better than that one, this vintage is better than that one.

Since I moved here, it seems nobody cares about that. That may be just a reflection of the people I hang out with but it's quite refreshing

I wish this were true. Sadly, once you start drinking the better wines in the $20-$30 range the cheap ones really taste subpar. I still drink some cheaper ones because I'm not wealthy, but you definitely tell the difference.

When I go out to dinner with somebody, I usually encourage them to choose the wine, since I really don't have time to learn about them. When they pick something that turns out to taste delicious, my opinion of them does go up.
