What do you mean by it? Is the blue team not good enough or is it that she is not getting enough playing opportunities on the team. You also mention that age group is falling apart, is it because not enough players? |
isn't the blue team second team this year? Academy is the new first team. It looks like the team names on got soccer have been updated |
I'm pretty sure I know which one you're talking about unless more than one is falling apart... |
I believe that on the girls side blue team is still the top team. |
| I’m still getting used to the name change—we are the academy team. And more than one of the age groups are falling apart |
What's the reasoning for them falling apart though? Not enough players, no attention to the age group, lack of coaching communication? As prior poster mentioned, might be a good time to start checking clubs nearby before they roster you on the team. You will lose your deposit but at least you will have the opportunity to go somewhere you want to. |
As many have specified, the girls side is a joke. 1. Last year, there was a girls technical director, a boys technical director, and an overall technical director. Guess how many times the technical director went to boys games? All. The. Time. Guess how many times the technical director went to girls games? Virtually none. 2. Every boys team gets at least 1 goal per training session, most get multiple goals (Loisdale where girls are banned, and Hayfield where it's still mainly boys). 3. DD's coach notified us he wasn't returning. Technical director immediately follows up saying we're going to look for a coach and internally and externally. Finally after a month, a parent messaged the director demanding an answer. Technical director responds saying after many interviews, they decided to go with the B team coach for DD's age group. Technical director also said girls will have access to ECNL through McLean (none of the girls even got looked at). Most importantly? The club did not do ANY INTERVIEWS for a coach. DD has friends here but the real reason why she stayed is because too nervous to go anywhere else. And now we're stuck in CCL, probably won't get admitted to WAGS, Jefferson Cup. |
|
^-- DD is 2004 and left SYC because of EXACTLY what you described. We were losing our coach and technical director promised to find the right coach after a series of interviews. Never did any interviews. We talked with our coach and she confirmed this. We decided to leave for a local ECNL club because we were just sick of the lying.
And a great decision, too. Technical director placed the ex-commissioner's daughter on the 2004 top team without even going through a tryout. SYC couldn't care less about girls soccer. If you can get your DD to VDA, BRYC, or Arlington she'll be all the better for it. |
Discrimination! |
the best solution is to leave |
EM over here |
If the team got in to those tournaments last year and was competitive there wouldn't be a reason why they wouldn't get in again. |
This may sound ballzee. Before signing your next contract asked for an addendum to the contract. That alows you to leave without penalty if the coach is changed. |
If they team did they will again?? How about when we're ranked #66? How about the people that ensured we got Jefferson Cup this year are all gone? There is absolutely a reason they won't be admitted for 2022, they had to beg and pander just to get in for 2021. Really terrific that DD will get to "showcase" herself to no coaches during CCL while the SYC boys will have every platform imaginable. Not that anything EM says will matter. He lied about coaches getting interviewed and he'll lie about anything else. |
I really wouldn't read too much into those rankings. There are some inferior teams above them. For example Arlington Blue is in front of White. It's just who participated in more events to get those points. They should still be able to get in. As for your other points I really can't argue against. CCL showcases do have coaches there as well although not from top schools. |
