In a perfect world with unlimited tests, maybe. Here I think they would be tier 3, unless they had symptoms.

Tier 1 - People with direct contact with the rector.
Tier 2 - People in the congregation.
Tier 3 - People with contact to parishioners

According to the email from the GDS HOS, DC DOH did not find any need to test the spouse of the church organist, who tested positive for coronavirus.

If a spouse of a positive can't get tested, my goodness

Good for them. In the absence of stronger broad leadership, local institutions and individuals need to make the tough choices now, before things go crazy.

Festivals and cherry blossom are still a go. Pushing that there are limited cases and no need for concern.

Absurd. There are few cases because of our dangerously stringent testing requirements.

Stringent testing criteria doesn't change the number of people needing hospitalization for respiratory distress. Considering the 20% need hospitalization rates being reported, if it was present broadly, the ICUs would have experienced a surge and would be overwhelmed and hospitals would be reporting death rates.

Italy didn't have a spike in the number of hospitalizations until recently. It seems that the only way to convince people that we need to test more widely and take more social distancing measures is to wait until it's too late, right?

Totally agree. I have zero faith in our country’s leaders right now.

It looks like limited cases because no one can get a test. Lunacy. The person who worked most closely with the Christ Church rector cannot get tested. Even the partner/spouse of the Christ Church Organist who tested positive cannot get a test done. The DC government is refusing. I feel like we live in North Korea.

Only the very old get that sick incredibly fast. If the average person gets symptoms a week after they are exposed, then seek medical care a week later, then get even sicker as the next week progresses, it will take some time.

From what I have heard, our school which is going on spring break in a couple of weeks, may be starting online classes next week...as an asthmatic, I am VERY thankful for this. I hope all other schools do the same and maybe we really can start to gain control of the situation.
