What's the old saying about putting lipstick on a pig?

Maybe they clear cut so many trees to harvest siding for the ugly building....

Seriously, they need to have and carry out a vey significant reforestation plan for the south and west slopes of the park, DPR has not provided any plan yet, unfortunately.

The pool looks SO tiny. I was opposed to that location for the pool, but if you are going to ramrod it through, build a decent pool.

It is the same size as most of the other outdoor DPR pools. That was what was said from the outset.

Well then it was a stupid waste of taxpayer money to build a little pool in a concrete bathtub in a once sylvan park. Most of the trees are gone and an ugly protuberance has spoiled what once a beautiful green canopy. It’s really desecration- the equivalent of putting hoops courts lit up by sodium lights in a national park.

Some say they cut the trees down so that the pool complex wouldn’t always be in shade. What a shame.

Is it? Tiny kiddie pool with no water feature and like 4 lanes. Inspired.

The protuberance is horrid. We have been walking past the park for a year now and how the view has changed . If they could have made an infinity view or something... It's so choppy and generic where there was once a green vista.

The ugly elevator building on the hillside seems as large as the pool.

At night the whole complex will be illuminated brighter than the perimeter of the DC jail.

That's just not true. The neighborhood successfully limited the size of the pool. I was part of that effort. A large pool - like the kind first proposed would have attracted way too much traffic. Please stop making stuff up.

Cheh ruined a beautiful urban oasis. What an aesthetic disaster. I wish she had some values. Unfortunately, she just focuses on her developer friends and supporters.

The pool is so typically Cheh. It pleases nobody, but a small group of well-orchestrated supporters. Either no pool or a real pool. What we got was an ugly little pool that will be empty eight months a year and filled with kiddie pee during the summer.
