Here's something hilarious - a libertarian think tank is pissed at Trump for being a socialist

McCain tried when the republican economy was going down the drain. There is no way ANY republican candidate would have beaten Obama in 2008. Romney lost with dignity and is infinitely better man than the Liar. McCain is a hero and a great person, the bone spur cheat and McCain don't even belong in the same sentence. |
Romney did not lose with dignity. Democrats called him evil, sexist, racist, misogynist, xenophobic, homophobic, and a corrupt business con man. Sound familiar? Don't give me this crap about losing with dignity. And McCain showed himself to be a grand standing selfish a-hole. He was incapacitated and unable to perform his duty as a Senator. Instead of passing his position to someone else, he decided to compromise the power and effectiveness of the legislature because he personally wanted to give Trump the finger. |
https://www.businessinsider.com/historical-view-global-gdp-shares-2015-9/ Historically China and India had the largest share of Global GDP until about 1820. Britain then plundered India to take down Indian economy. USA with slave labor and plundered native american resources started squeezing out China. But towards the end of the graph, you can see Africa, Latin America, China and India are beginning to get back their fair share of GDP, equal to their large internal population. Guess who is getting squeezed out, Europe and USA who have been enjoying a disproportionate share of global GDP(by taking away other's fair share) since the 1800s. You are refusing to see the emergence of the NEW power structure based out of ASIA, as it always have been throughout human history except for a brief 150 years. The only way to tackle this is to have a large internal market LIKE THE TPP, that the self described King of Debt killed. |
Anecdotally, I know plenty of Democrats who were open to McCain - until he picked that nutbag Sarah Palin to be his running mate. That really torched any credibility or appeal he might have had. No thank you to putting "I can see Russia from my house!" one heartbeat away from the White House. Romney, in retrospect, seems more appealing. But his pick of Paul Ryan certainly made him seem less centrist, as well. Paul Ryan isn't a looney nutbag like Sarah Palin but he is very unappealing to almost anyone who isn't a diehard Republican. |
Thats BS. Romney lost when he called 47% of Americans as moochers. End of story. No matter what the cultists say, mcCain is a great, patriotic American. Your cult leader is the worst in American history. Historians already have the liar as one of the worst. Thankfully cultists don't get to write American history. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_rankings_of_presidents_of_the_United_States |
PP here, and again I am only engaging because I want to repeat something I've said before to provide additional context. Again this is not for you, it's for other people to read. The United States does not give a rat's ass whether it has the biggest economy in the world. The US has nothing to prove, it's not a d*ck-measuring contest. We know this because this is how the US has always engaged the world: it's number one goal is to protect and further American interests, and having strong vibrant ally countries in the world is very much an American interest. The US welcomes healthy and fair competition both domestically and on the world stage. This is in every aspect of what we do and is exemplified by the fact that the US has one of the most open markets to foreign companies. If India and China develops into larger economies than the US - great! The US welcomes powerful allies to share in the burden of working towards global security and prosperity. This is what we've been trying to get the EU to do, as anyone can plainly see as we brow-beat our EU allies into adhering to their NATO commitments. The problem that the US and rest of the world has against China isn't that its economy is getting large, but that the country continues to engage in unfair trade practices and is intent on using large Chinese business entities as extensions of the China communist party, to the detriment of the security of US and its allies. Since the main goal of the US is to protect American interests and the interest of its allies, it's only natural that the US will take opportunities to check the power of an adversarial China. Go ahead and say something about 5000 years, I know you want to. |
Here is another visual for historic GDPs. The graph ends a decade ago before the global recession began. Since 2008 is a lost decade for Europe. https://infogram.com/share-of-world-gdp-throughout-history-1gjk92e6yjwqm16 |
LOL, so your counter argument is that Romney lost because Democrats could not accept his statement of a plain observable fact? Not sure this makes Democrats look any more rational. In fact it further contributes to my contention that Romney did not lose with dignity. |
What's the point of this? No one is arguing about these historical facts, nor is anyone suggesting that the US doesn't want to see China be powerful purely in terms of economy. The disagreement is in fair trade and adversarial actions by the Chinese government. |
Did you read the graph at all. THings have changed since 2008, big time. I am saying the future will resemble like the past because ultimately capitalism needs market and those with large internal market will dominate. Thats the bottomline. The world never functions on fair play. US wasn't fair to China when it was dominant. So why do you expect a rising China to be fair to USA? The losers whine. Why are we whining and not competing? US and Europe setup the global economic rules after Bretton Woods conference post WW2. There was no representation from China or India or anyone else. It was UK,France and USA. That system was setup to benefit the west. So China, India, Brazil, Russia are all playing by the rules setup by America. It was America that was playing unfair until now and that is coming to an end as others are catching up. Learn history well. US with 5% of population has been enjoyed over 30% of global wealth. But slowly that has come down to 15% and will go down to what the population is , EVEN WHEN THE GLOBAL ECONOMIC PIE is growing with the ascendancy of Asia and Africa. So we are not having absolute loss, we are only having relative loss. others have grown even though we haven't declined. But we are no longer the worlds lord anymore. We are right now extending beyond our means to pretend we are big. Our Debt is as big as our GDP thanks to tax cuts for the rich. If we continue pretending by keeping a bloated military everywhere we will not have money to pay for interest on debt. So America needs to wake up and create TPP again to be able to compete with the NEW ASIA. https://www.statista.com/statistics/270267/united-states-share-of-global-gross-domestic-product-gdp/ |
The moochers are the rich who don't pay any tax and get tax cut after tax cut, not the middle and lower middle whose net salary gain is actually negative since 1980s. Look at teh income inequality graph below. The rich are squeezing out YOUR INCOME GROWTH TOO. https://www2.deloitte.com/insights/us/en/economy/issues-by-the-numbers/july-2017/rising-income-inequality-gap-united-states.html |
You are not getting what PP is saying. We can't simply wish away that American gain was on the back of slavery, deaths of Native Americans and their resources, followed by a global system that crushed others to our benefit. So we didn't play fair when we climbed either. We played very dirty to climb to where we are. Thats the reality. |
Were they mean to the liberals? |
Nope, they were quite substantive, on both sides. |
