They have every right to assess the credibility of claimants. Very weird that you seem to think otherwise. Do you favor star chambers?

Hatch has already declared her to be "confused." Is he prepared to assess her credibility? Doesn't seem so.

1. She can't remember the approximate year.
2. She can't remember who else was there.
3. She can't remember where it was,
or even which neighborhood.
4. She can remember who's house it was.

Why is she so confused?
Was she drunk before she got there?

She obviously can remember which school year if she knows she was 15, and she can remember who else are there. She also remembers that rhe house was close to a particular country club. Do you ever actiaally read?

Seems a bit below par by the usual standards, but he’lll do. Kennedy II.

There isn't time to confirm anyone before the midterms. After that, we'll all have to see.

But I expect that Kavanaugh will withdraw, probably before Monday. If he waits until after Monday to withdraw, that ups the chances of his removal from his current position.

I remember vivid details of several parties that I attended 25 years ago. I have no idea which neighborhood/house the party occurred, or exactly which people (other than a few friends) were there. You're also assuming a bunch of things that aren't actually in the reporting - for example, there's a difference between remembering several people who were there and remembering every person who was at a party. It's quite normal not to remember the latter.

Senator Hatch, like other Senators, will duly undertake those responsibilities. It is deeply cynical to think otherwise.

At this point in the Game of Senators, I think its realistic rather than cynical. McConnell and others have revealed their true selves to be manipulative, hypocritical, and gaslighters.

That’s your take. There is no reason to think they will not be open minded. These are elected officials charged with executing their Constitutional duties. I have faith in them. All of them.

Mmhmm yes they have been properly exercising their constitutional duties for a few years now.

Please provide one example of where they have acted improperly under the Constitution. Political disagreements don’t count.

Not giving Merrilck Garland a hearing and a vote.

There’s plenty of time. But the nominee will not be Hardiman.

There is absolutely nothing that stops McConnell from confirming someone during the lame duck session, unless two Republicans decide they don't want to go along (doubtful).

One.More.Time -- for the cheap seats in the back:

Many women have been assaulted and don't remember some of that information. It varies, and there are multiple reasons why that could be.

For example, I was sexually assaulted, it's clear as day who it was, and I can 15 years later tell you every detail of how it happened. But I couldn't take you to that person's house, or even what precise neighborhood. I don't remember who else was there. I remember what year it was but not what month. I am not the only one -- there have been multiple people in these threads telling their similar stories. I probably had a few sips of beer, if that -- I really didn't drink. Others were quite drunk.

I've also only told one or two people in very close confidence, and it was many years after the fact. This scenario is not just plausible, it is painfully common.

There actually isn’t plenty of time — Mueller and midterms are both on the horizon.

You’re right, always possible Trump once again picks the worse possible candidate.

Can we not do better then this guy for the Supreme Court regardless of politics? It is a lifetime appointment.

Kennedy likes him. That should be enough for all of us. Apparently.
