I can actually find this somewhat believable. AndI might have even been a little impressed if Trump had fired him in January saying "even though his actions helped me, I value the rule of law and the importance of following deparment procedures, so I'm firing the guy who helped put me in office" Now, it sure seems like he's firing Comey because he is leading an investigation into the Trump team. That's reprehensible. |
I doubt Comey has done the vast majority of work on the Russia stuff.
The Clinton email server was first brought up be low level tech govt employees in 2010 and they were shut down. Now if State, Justice, FBI had simply followed through on that there would have been zero issue. ie Sorry my dear you just can't do that... The whole thing is just silly. Lots of Comey's career has been spent on Clintons. |
Are you this stupid in real life? |
We need to take to the streets. |
Comey deserves to be fired. No one who uses lack of "criminal intent" as an excuse to not prosecute deserves to lead the investigative agency of the federal government.
No one who openly admits that the DOJ had acted in a way that betrayed the trust of the people yet did not recommend prosecution should be allowed to stay. He bragged about this in the context of how he navigated the turbulent currents that is Hillary's email investigation. |
MIGHT she have? Maybe. She didn't win so we won't ever know. She wouldnt have been under investigation for russian ties so I'm inclined to think she would have had no reason to and would have respected the 10 year appointment. And if not, she would have done the firing the first working day after inauguration, not balls deep into an investigation into her campaign. |
No it had to be more calculated than that. He's making an example of Comey. He allowed Flynn to resign, despite the fact that he had lied to the FBI. But Comey is being asked to leave because he's lost the confidence of the American public, but no specific charges of wrongdoing, and he gets publicly fired without any chance to resign and save face?! Trump's a showman, but even he's not that dumb. |
I guess that's the liberal's way of saying you disagree with my theory. (Never miss a chance to insult someone wih a differing opinion!) Would you care to rebut with anything of significance? And no, IQ in top 5%. |
To the folks who thing that Comey's departure won't change things in the investigation, saying calm down, no big deal -- the Director of the FBI has the final word on the investigations that his/her agents are working, correct? What would stop someone new coming in and stopping everything all together or slowing things down so that it seems to fizzle? |
Not the PP but I agree - of the 30+ pages about 5 of them have real on topic points, the rest are deflecting the blame away from Trump... by paid trolls Also, people with jobs (mostly smart people) do not have time to look through all 30+ pages if they clicked on the thread late |
Defund the investigation, re-allocate resources, etc... hence the reason for firing the FBI lead |
Agreed, he is sending a strong message to prevent something bigger from happening. |
Yeah, I don't think so. He knew there would be blowback. He doesn't care. His tweets reach the American people without liberal bias through media. I'm happy he does. And don't you know that Bill Clinton also fired the FBI director? It's not like it hasn't been done before. |

This argument is tired. Clinton's FBI director was defrauding the government (using private jet for personal use, using FBI funds to make home upgrades) and was rightly fired. Stop with the tangents. |
