Unless you are schedule F'd. |
I'm just not taking my computer home anymore. Without a telework agreement, I don't even think I'm allowed to. |
No one would be playing a game with you, goodness. They would literally be following the new policy. You’d really jump down someone’s throat for going by the rules? I’m glad you’re not my supervisor. |
If I have no telework agreement and the office is closed, I am on admin leave (weather and safety leave) because my employer is the one that made working impossible. If your supervisor said something else, I'd ask HR to clarify. |
This is actually a legitimate response though - not childish. If I don't have a valid telework agreement in place, my equipment isn't covered. I shouldn't be taking it home. |
Or ran DEI programs, or you are an IG. |
The Treasury Secretary has already stated that it is a questionable security practice to have people telework. So that sounds like we should never telework for the safety of the nation. They can't have it both ways. |
Did new employees in the probationary period receive Fridays email about RTO? |
Interesting that there is a section for bringing cbas into compliance (subsection (c)). They are also asking for the background for the the cbas came into being so perhaps trying to nullify them. Seems also like they will heavily scrutinize them either for loopholes or order agencies to breach them. Even if they lose by the time that happens some people might quit. |
Some people have already answered you better than I could, but since you are a supervisor, you could all band together to flex your employees yourselves. Nobody squeals. Everyone covers for everyone. There are people there all the time... rotating. And you just gaslight the ninnies who are babysitting at the top if there even are any. "Oh, Susan? She's definitely here today. She must be in the restroom." |
NP and at least at my agency they randomly audit badge data in and out so it's not even the supervisor that is monitoring for compliance. If you guys don't have to swipe in and out you could get away with that I suppose. |
I'm not going to bat for people that want to play games. I'm more than willing to cover for people who need to take off early to pick up a kid and have no issues signing their time sheet that they did the required time in office. But play the game of "oh, I'm not signing the telework form, you can't have it both ways" and I'm going to treat you like a child until you quit or find a new job. Enjoy sitting at your desk for 8 hours and 30 minutes every single day. I'll be having formal counseling if I see you leave even 10 minutes early to beat traffic. |
But it is childish. There will be a teleowork agreement in place for certain circumstances. If you don't sign it then you're being childish. |
There’s what…a snow day a year? 😂 This response is literally so childish it’s what my children actually do. “Oh well if you’re going to do that then I’m going to do <insert something very benign>” |
Sounds nice conceptually, but agencies are 100% going to be monitoring network activity, badge swipes, etc. |
