No, it's not the end of the world. It IS the ending of her kids' world. Having an affair with your trainer and getting pregnant is not what a loving parent and mature person of high moral character would do. |
I thought you meant celebrities so we'd have common examples. IME, don't know any couples that split, the man moved on and was praised, while the wife took all the blame. |
Oh come on thats such an overreaction. It's a sucky situation but the kids world isn't ending. It doesn't mean she's not a good parent either. |
Not to side track but I actually know Ethan’s family of origin and Uma had been gone from that relationship for quite a while , I believe dating someone else, when Ethan started seeing someone. And she seemed to kind of jump on his “affair” for her own public image when he did, to paint him as a cheater. Which was silly since they’d both already moved on from their marriage. |
It actually does mean she’s a shitty parent. You can think the world of getting knocked up by your affair partner, but nobody has to agree with you. At least Gisele has one person impressed by this. |
The kids' world that they knew is definitely ending. If you think her actions are those of a good, loving parent, then I won't try to convince you otherwise. |
+1 Some people will rationalize and make excuses for any behavior |
They aren't 10. It would have been different even if there wasn't an affair |
Love this tea. I totally see Uma doing this too. He ended up dating the nanny so even it there was overlapping on both sides, I'll see why she would be ticked off and latched on to the cheating rumors. |
Please reread the bolded part. It would indicate that i in fact do not think the world of her or am impressed by it. Misconstruing what i said to see in favor of the man is misogynistic. |
It isn't a sucky situation. She created it with her actions and decisions and choices. Women are just as capable of men of being able to make good and bad decisions and being responsible for their actions. It isn't misogynistic to say a woman is responsible for themselves. And look how often on here people excuse a woman's actions because her husband must not have helped out enough, or she was stressed and he didn't do enough to untress her or he must have deserved it in some way. I don't see you in every thread commenting on all the misandry of seeing every situation in favor of the woman. It seems your view is that regardless of who does what, the fault should always be on the man. But again, saying women can be responsible for their own choices and actions is not misogynistic. In fact your view that she should only be seen as a victim of circumstance is far more misogynistic. You are stripping her of her agency to make her own decisions and be seen as competent and capable of her own life choices. |
You seem really hung up on the idea that any criticism of this is misogyny. Yet you haven’t provided any proof of where men are celebrated and praised for doing the same. Most people can see moral failings regardless of sex. Cheating is wrong. Gisele could have divorced at any time she wasn’t stuck in the marriage due to lack of funds or the usual reasons someone can’t leave. She stayed and did what she did and that makes her look like a person without a moral compass. What exactly are you defending here? That Tom may have been a bad husband so she deserved her affair? |
I'm surprised this thread keeps going. |
It's not about her getting criticism when I did the same thing but the one unhinged and irrationally reaction it's getting on this board |
