It’s about relationships v influence. Relationships are built on years of hard work and mutual respect. Relationships get any coach to a game sideline to watch a player perform. It’s all up to the player after that. Influence is more like a top ten D1 coach whose daughter commits to that program hours after the 9/1 dead period lifts. Those are two different things. |
If you don't read anything else read the above. Many recruiting decisions will definitely leave you scratching your head. Much of what happens is going on behind the scenes and you don't even realize it. |
I am curious if this is the same dad that wants to keep his kid at MDDC. If so, he is taking a huge risk on what seems like promising talent from his daughter. |
Except the central thesis is wrong: there are roughly the same number of Capital players at UNC, Northwestern and BC as M&D. And there are no Hero’s players on any of these teams. |
First, it is Capital. Secondly, no I would leave them there. |
That is such a boring argument. The likelihood of any of your kids being on those teams is so low. Why waste time with that conversation? I was referring to this part of the statement "However, as you go through the process and get past the top 10, it's not as much about lacrosse skills as one might think. High School, GPA, Club team, nice/intelligent kid, family or club connections, wealth, etc. all play a factor. " |
I think the part people are missing is that isn’t so much the club that helps recruit but rather the school AD. This is where private school helps. |
I would disagree with this. Capital has plenty of public school girls going to great schools. The only privates that are heavily involved in recruiting are SSSAS, GC and SR. Maybe others but it is not the norm. Club tournaments is where it happens |

Not a full llist just a few of the recruits from each Hero's teams The 26 team has girls committed to NW, BC, and UMD. The 25 class is sending girls to Denver, UMD, Syracuse, and ND. The 24 Class Sent girls to Clemson, Stanford, Loyola, and Penn... |
How come MnD DC is the only branch of MnD that don't post their rosters? |
See everyone 7/14, your kid still has to make the team. |
Good luck with all the Pride and Stars players. Diamonds in the rough is a phrase for a reason. |
People will not like this but I would also advise if you make Orange....take it over anything else in this immediate area....just look at the recruiting results |
