The County Council was able to do this because SROs come out of the police budget, not the MCPS budget. And the high school principals' opinions are irrelevant to the County Council's legal authority. I'm certain you know both of these facts.

And I'm sure you're aware that school security is very much a responsibility of principals but im certain you know this fact.

Got divorced in April.

Wonder if his wife knew.

She showed up to the school yelling at him in the parking lot one day in March, so, yeah, probably.

Tell us more.

This is so untrue and unfair. Leave her out of it. I know her personally and she deserves to be kept out of all of this.

Does he have a drinking problem? It sounds like yes.

Definitely financial management problems per his record in case search.

? are people angry with the union? Then why do so many back the Apple ballot, which is basically backed by the union?

This is horrifying, but I really object to the political posters who are try to co opt this and drum up anti equity sentiment. This has nothing to do with dei. It has everything to do with factions, friendships, cronyism and a sense of protecting and promoting their won no matter the cost. Yes, race and bias certainly played a factor as well as optics, but this is not about equity.

To the person who keeps saying they are a "moderate democrat" against these "far left" policies, and that we should vote "anyone" challenging boe candidates, I think you are some kind of right wing political (maybe paid even) lobbyist. Maybe that crazy Dawn woman. I don't know. But stop trying to make this some bash at equity. That is just a nasty DeSantis move.

That would be a good start.

They're really trying to dance around this thing. They've obviously learned nothing.

Cases are: back taxes owed to the state of MD, foreclosure in 2010 which it looks like they managed to block using the relief provided by the Servicemembers' Civil Relief Act, a DUI in May 2013, and their recent divorce.

Start your own thread (AGAIN) if you want to talk about SROs AGAIN.

And the poster(s) who want to talk about AP/IB test fees can go post on that thread, not this one.

Not trying to rehash SROs so stop with the drama. I was simply saying that I don't buy the bullshiz about the lack of power the County Council has with regards to MCPS.

Who cares about all of this. This man isn’t a celebrity to divulge his personal matters. Grown up people!

This is nothing but a modern day lynching. Stop all the MCPS drinking and happy hours. Monifa should be more aware of how many mcps employees have affairs and drink constantly off and on the clock mutually.

“[MCPS] said they were going to do an investigation—which is great—except they made a promotion decision despite [Beidleman] having six complaints this year. So, were there investigations or weren’t there investigations? Were they adequate?” he said.

Elrich added, “If it looks like what it does look like, there’s some people who need to be held accountable. Because how you went through a promotion process and didn’t discuss this is kind of amazing.”

Is the County Council going to have a hearing about this? Someone needs to shine a light on the investigation process and report findings to the public.

Complaints have avenues to appeal and take to the Superintendent as well as the Board. Who knew what and when as well as what action was taken to protect employees would be key questions.

It's public interest when he's in the Washington Post for this behavior.

Assuming you work for MCPS, maybe get back to making some kind of statement about this situation.

As an MCPS teacher, will I still be employed and promoted after a DUI? I didn’t think so. Why would the rules be different for principals?
