How so? You mean because a Republican might beat a Democrat? Only in the mind of a LWNJ would that equate to a "dictatorship." Most of us call that a democracy.

There will be retaliation from republicans, escalation, civil war, and we’ll likely ultimately end up with dictatorship in this country, whether it’s a “D” or “R” won’t much matter by the time we get there. Dems have signaled that they are throwing the rules out the window and abandoning our norms, which will lead to escalation and retaliation by the right (Thucydides trap). The Dems might be doing this intentionally so that they have an excuse to go full on totalitarian. TBD.

This is the silliest thing I have ever heard. Are you high?

This whole indictment thing has opened doors. Things we have considered inconceivable are now going to be considered fair game by both sides. We may see the election of a indicted/convicted president, like Brazil and Israel. We're normalizing things we never thought were possible.

I'm hoping and praying for peace.

I am praying for peace too. Wait until everyone realizes they are not after Trump as much as they are after all of us. We are banana republic now.

All we have to do is shut up, continue to pay for stupid ideas no one is allowed to ridicule, and sacrifice our children to the woke whims of the state. Good times!

I'm a republican too. Try not to catastrophize. It could be that we are descending into a banana republic, but we need more information beyond the fact that Trump was indicted. Yes, it seems petty. But, we haven't seen all the information yet to draw conclusions. Once we see everything and have time to fully analyze it, we can draw conclusions. The reality is, Trump was not a normal president and did not have a normal relationship with the law. That is just a fact.

It was too blatant to ignore. Let's not forget that the payment was in 2016 so that means he filed the fraudulent returns in 2017 AFTER he was President. Not only that, he and his idiot lawyer Giuliani admitted to the basic fact pattern in 2018.

I haven't been able to look at all the facts of the indictment, in fact, it doesn't appear that they are public yet. If it is an entirely political prosecution, then it makes sense to get very worked up. I don't think the DOJ is a perfectly pure institution but I also don't think Trump was a perfectly pure, law abiding citizen or president. If the indictment is legit, it's legit. It also paves the way for Biden and his people to pay for what they appear to have done. This could be a good thing.

Lock.him.up!!

That doesn’t mean anything. DeSantis can’t stop anything. He’s just saying that to make MAGA happy. If Trump doesn’t surrender, that’ll piss off the judge. Trump’s lawyers would be dumb to allow their client not to surrender.

I read in Wapo that there are talks of him surrendering on April 4th, I guess we will see.

Oh for Pete's sake. He's never been a Russia guy. It's so tired.

DP. I bet he defects for Moscow.

Lots of corporations pay hush money. How is this case different?

How disrespectful of Trump. April 4,1968 is when MLK was murdered in Memphis.

We won't know the details of the 34 charges until he is processed. It's not just about Stormy.

Should be interesting to see what they have....That's a lot to prove, but honestly, if you are dealing with a NYC jury, like DC, they won't care about truth.

Did Pelosi honestly tweet that Trump has to prove his INNOCENCE in a court of law?

I'm a Dem and hope there is no indictment. It's a strong case but Trump needs to be charged on Jan 6 for trying to stop the democratic process. That case is a slam dunk and I'm pissed as hell that Garland is too much of an institutionalist (or wuss) to bring charges. Maybe Jack will. Trump must be indicted or we have no more a country of laws. We may as well burn the Constitution.

Any week now, any week... Nah.

This did not age well.

Now he needs to prove his innocence, right?

Trump would be dumb not to surrender. The Constitution requires his extradition. It will happen. But if his going to head back to FL as soon as he is out on bail and do the same thing every time he has a Court appearance, he’s creating good cause for the ajudge TO tHrow him in jail pending trial— because he won’t voluntarily appear and repeated extradition is a huge waste of Court resources.

I’m fine with him being out on bail for white collar crimes as a first time defendant. But, I hope he gets an ankle monitor with a radius, and loses the ability to hop all over the country golfing and fleecing the rubes. And, I really hope there is a gag order with teeth on everyone involved with the trial. Love to see Trump sit and stew, unable to post on social media.

He’s being prosecuted by the state of NY. Not the DOJ.

She's not a lawyer. You can't expect her to understand the jurisprudence system in America.

She’s certainly never been indicted, so she isn’t the expert here 😁
