But that is exactly what the school agreed to do, at least regarding the streets nearest the school. Tons of people drop off east of Wisconsin. And of course, kids park illegally all over the neighborhood.

Not so. The agreement only forbids dropoffs on the immediately adjacent streets -- nothing else for parents. Stop lying.

That’s what I said - streets nearest the school. East of Wisconsin is fair game and there are many, many students being dropped off there. And students, by their own admission, parking on neighborhood streets all day which is illegal and against the agreement.

That's NOT in the MOU, and moreover, anyone with a shred of common sense would realize what an impractical idea this is. Does Sidwell, NCS, or St. Albans monitor drop offs on the other side of Wisconsin Avenue? On the other side of Mass Ave? Wisconisn Avenue is a six lane major artery running through the city. And how would you distinguish between GDS, Jackson-Reed, and Deal families?

And, and as a GDS parent, I want to add that I am pretty upset with GDS for not being clear in the hearing about this issue. They were asked about the map. They never said that the map is accurate under the agreement -- which it is! Instead, they just wanted to pacify the ANC. They should have defended parents by being clear that (1) they are not pushing parents to drop anywhere and have requested people carpool or take other modes; but (2) notwithstanding this, the fact is that the agreement authorizes people to drop at places like Wisconsin Avenue.

You're arguing with someone who agrees with you.

Hahaha. It’s not like the ANC has a police force.

ANC can pick the issues and keep their middle finger in their pocket. Who’s on it? Is this that idiot Siddiqui?

That’s what I said. East of Wisc is fair game for dropping off and lots of people do it.

The ANC is saying it was duped. It is a ridiculous assertion. The ANC knows how to read agreements that have been filed. If they say they are being duped, it's because those idiots don't even read their own agreements.

It is the school’s responsibility, acc to the agreement they signed with the city, to report.

To report what? To report an agreement that both parties signed and filed???? The ANC has that report already. It had it years ago.

DDOT requires developers to state how they are going to handle traffic and parking in a comprehensive transportation review https://ddot.dc.gov/page/development-review-program

The way to find out what GDS said it would do to handle pickup and dropoff would be in this document. What does it say?

To report they were not complying with their transportation cap and enrollment cap.

I'm curious, does the ANC have similar agreements with all the other schools in the area? There are a bunch of other schools near GDS, including most notably Jackson-Reed. Does the ANC have an agreement with Jackson-Reed on where kids can and can't be dropped off?

Ooops. Sorry about that. Glad we are on the same page. And YES to the PP who was frustrated that no one from GDS pointed out the language of the MOU! Why didn't Russell, Jeff, Barbara, or Tim point out that the language of the final MOU that everyone signed, and the corresponding map, left Wisconsin Ave and the east side of Wisconsin unmonitored? Why did they let Jonathan Bender go on and on when his assertions about GDS were based on a completely false representation of the MOU? Did no one from GDS review the MOU before the meeting? Did no one have the MOU handy?

Jackson Reed is a public school with no enrollment cap.
