GDS admissions

We’ve applied 3 kids 4 times (last kid didn’t get accepted the first time, but did the second). We got that email 4/4 times. I don’t think it means anything and I do think they send to everyone. The family that didn’t get it should check their spam filter.

Thank you for this! I’m the poster who thought it could be a bad sign, but that was mostly premised on hearing that others didn’t get it.

+1
We are applying for a sibling this year and got it 2/2 times. First child was accepted several years ago.

It was specifically noted in the email that the admissions office will NOT be open on Friday afternoon once decisions are released. They must be hoping that any outrage subsides over the weekend.

Yeah, I noted that too. Classic Friday afternoon news drop.

I wouldn't get frustrated. This is normal and typical. None of the schools are staying open late Friday night or over the weekend to field emails and calls re admissions. They will absolutely do that on Monday though.

Or maybe they just really need a break given how undeniably hectic this week will have been. This week is the last final push to determine acceptances and financial aid packages. It's a lot of work and stressful.

Yeah, none of this is particularly different from what the GDS admissions office has done in prior years.

Or any school. The schools all release at 4pm on Friday and then close the office.
Stop the conspiracy theories.
