I don't think anyone expects to break the Dems. They're clearly trolling McCarthy's camp, and won't nominate a compromise candidate, because they want McCarthy to admit he defeat first.

Well, it’s a fact the Soeaker does control the camera feed. That’s the reason the feed was cut during the 2016 sit-down protest over gun control. C-SPAN writes to the new Speaker to make its case at the start of each speakership.

Why does the Freedom Caucus hate this guy so much? He has made all the right noises for years, embraced MAGA and Trump, etc. Of course he is a phony and a fraud, but so are they. I don't really get it.

It is possible (but unlikely and might be my hopes talking) that they have begun to lose control of the monster they made.
