Carrie Bradshaw was not good looking enough for her dating life

How is this even open to interpretation? SJP’s own dating life is even more impressive than her character’s.

SJP had natural charisma and a charming personality and just exudes happiness and positivity, and people are just drawn to people like that. Apparently a lot of women resent that. It’s mind-boggling.

It's always been that way. Most men rather have the fun average looking woman.

I can't believe any of you guys think she's average looking! But yeah of course people would rather spend time with someone fun.

I guess if your ideal is the quiet WASP, then sure. But it's not mine and I think she looked (and still looks) fantastic.

That hair tho! I’m so envious of it. I have stick straight WASP hair; would give anything for riotous curls.

So bad - no one fashionable had that kid of hair at the time. It looked very 80's and the only other NY women who would wear big curls (on the top of her head too!) was equally annoying and weird Elaine from Seinfeld.

Careful, your anti-semitism is showing.

Sorry, nothing you say is going to stop me from liking her curls. They’re great.

DP. Nope, that's the truth. I am Jewish, curly haired, and in the 90s NYC, curls were considered not only unfashionable, but also unprofessional - if you had a job that required wearing a suit (as most white collar jobs were), you'd better keep your curls in a bun or a french braid.

FFS, you can’t possibly be serious.

Not at all. The ONLY two curly-haired women in the 90s both happened to be Jewish (and apparently they were also annoying and weird)? Another PP listed a bunch of other women with similar hair, to which I’d also add Andie Macdowell.

Don't have to be anti-semite to dislike curly blanket covering woman's back. This is "the Rachel cut" was invented. A curly Greek girl disliked her curls and we've never seen her with them again.

It must be miserable to go through life desperately looking for anti-semitism everywhere.

Hahaha. Yep there's always one that pulls the fake card to try and shut you down!

She looks great and funny Elaine from Seinfeld was also very pretty. I forgot about her. Most would love to have that hair then and today!

He was very cute back in the day. Plus he’s a great actor and extremely successful. Hello, The Producers?? Remember when that was all the rage?

Julianna Margulies nabbed George Clooney in the 90s with a head full of curls

Carrie Bradshaw character isn't Jewish and SJP never had training. Her father was Jewish and so is her husband, but doesn't sound like she's much for religion.
Not that it has anything to do with her hair, lol.

What she looks like is irrelevant, the same way it is in real life.

Dating is about charisma and personality, temperament and sociability.

I was stunning through all my 20's and 30s and despite one long term relationship my dating life was a disaster, not because I didn't look good - I looked amazing - but because I'm really uptight and not relaxed at all, unreasonable and emotionally unstable.

I wish it was down to just looks.

Did you just pull an article about trends from 5 years ago
Besides, we're talking about the 90's and if long curly hair was in back then. Yea, it was...for dorks.

Next can you fans of curly long hair convince my daughter of their beauty? I have been trying for years. She gets so many compliments from males as well but still feels pressure to have flat straight hair as some impossible transcendent beauty standard. She wants my lick straight hair while I adore her flamboyant curls.

Someone needs to start a rival thread that the men in Carrie Bradshaw’s dating life were not good looking enough to date her (although character wise they may have been perfectly suited)….
