Write in if you disagree. I'd rather see this at the top of the forum list than "Okay, anyone disappointed in Obama so far? ", which just seems to keep floating up. So if you have something to say, say it. Frequently. Come back often ![]() |
Cute idea to try to change the spin in the title without changing the topic. I voted for him and think he is doing well over all. I can't say I am sure he's got the right guys running the economic clean-up; I wish he'd pull someone like Krugman into his kitchen cabinet. But at least I feel confidence that there are intelligent people working on it and I still have some hope that Obama himself is not totally a captive of the oligarchy.
If I had chosen a new name for the thread, I think I'd have picked something more neutral, like "Obama: Your latest rating". |
He is a total disaster. Bowing to a foreign leader, giving the Queen an IPOD, Mrs. Obama touching the Queen, firing the head of a coporation, tax cheats running the IRS and now Kumar in the White House. It would be funny if it was not so scary. |
The jury is still out for me on the bailout/stimulus/whatever.
However, I just heard that he is hosting a seder at the White House and to my surprise this is also the first time a president has done that. (What took so long???!!!!) Go Obama! It's about time! |
Yes, I think touching a Queen is a totally disastrous thing to do. More! More! Tax Cheats! More! More! Keep the subject at the top of the forum! |
On the scale of unwanted touchings, nothing has yet to beat the impromptu Merkel (sp?) shoulder massage.

I love Obama. I'm so happy we are rid of Bush. I thank God every day for Barak Obama. I can actually open the newspaper (or my computer) and read the news without feeling ill, or having to stop because I am so utterly disgusted. At times I thought my head would explode, so outraged I was at nearly every single thing the Bush administration did. And it kept getting worse and worse and worse. Obama is a breath of fresh air, and he gets better and better and better. Here's to eight years of Obama! |
Are you the poster who hates her SUV-driving SIL? Just curious and no offense meant! ![]() |
Ditto. and I am not the smug anti-SUV poster. |
This is how I feel, as well. And, I'm also not the suv poster (whatever that means). To the poster who mentioned suc trivial things as Mrs. O touching the queen and giving the queen and IPOD, I suggest that is a measure of how well Obama is doing and how much on the right path, if these are the things you have to complain about. As for the wrong people on the economic front, the news has been pretty ok the past couple of days. I choose to remain hopeful while understanding this is going to be not an overnight process. |
I feel the same way. For the first time in a long time I don't feel embarrassed by the president. But here I should add that the embarrassment goes back further than 8 years. I found Bill Clinton and his sophomoric sexual behavior to be an embarrassment as well. At least we now have an actual grown up in the White House. Thank god! |
If you think this makes him a friend to Jews and Israel, you're wrong. Actions speak louder than words and he and HRC are no friends of Israel. |
I am not surprised that so many people in DC loves him. In any case, this is a president that brings a big government to DC by mortgaging the future.

Did I say anything about Israel? Holding a seder in the White House has just about as much to do with Israel as lighting the national Christmas tree has to do with the pope! It is possible to take a stand in favor of the inclusion of Judaism in the President's home without it all relating to Israel. My point is that it's ridiculous that this is the first time a seder has been held in the White House and it should have been done a long time ago. And I don't care by whom -- Eisenhower, Nixon, Carter, LBJ. I would have been happy if George W. had done it! It's irrelevant to me. Whoever did it, our country is better for it. |
I'm Catholic, and our parish held seders every few years. It was good to connect with the meaning of Passover, which is critical to the Easter story. |
