A made-in-China IPOD loaded with show tunes and Obama speeches, nonetheless!!! Utterly tactless, but consider the source. Compare this to what the Bushes gave Queen Elizabeth when she visited in 2007: President and Mrs. Bush gave Her Majesty a bronze statuette “High Desert Princess” with a personal inscription on the bottom of the base. It is a replica of the original life size statue that is located in front of the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Ft. Worth, Texas. President and Mrs. Bush gave The Prince Philip an exclusive sterling silver eagle box by Tiffany & Co. with personal inscription on the inside lid. President and Mrs. Bush gave Their Majesties a leather presentation box filled with a collection of documents from the National Archives. One of the items was a copy of an original letter from President Roosevelt to her father, King George, written in 1938. There were also photos from previous royal visits and a DVD of the footage from the Queen’s visit to the United States when she was Princess Elizabeth in 1951. I know whom I would rather have as my personal shopper and my commander-in-chief as I sit adrift in a life boat with Somali pirates. I also know the toothless tiger I would favor if I were North Korea test-launching a long-range Intercontinental Ballistic Missile or an aging, anti-democracy tyrant in Cuba. |

She has been doing podcasts for two or three years, now. Yes, Podcasts. She has revamped the official royal web site with none other than Tim Berners-Lee, father of the Web. And she has visited with Google to consult with them about youtube as a communications medium. She has always surprised the public, including her own subjects, with her interest in technology as a communications medium. |

| I do not like Obama. I wish I was happy that we are rid of Bush but Obama is worse. I thank God every day that Barak Obama has not yet turned us into a communist nation. I can't actually open the newspaper (or my computer) and read the news without feeling ill, or having to stop because I am so utterly disgusted. At times I think my head will explode, so outraged I am at nearly every single thing the Obama administration does. And it keeps getting worse and worse and worse. Obama is full of hot air, and he gets worse and worse and worse. Here's to only 4 years of Obama! |

Among the many, many things I love about Obama and his family, I especially love how the Obamas seem to actually enjoy living in DC and how involved they are getting in the community. It's such a welcome change from the Bushes and their obvious disdain for our city.
And as far as the communism comments - yeah because capitalism seems to be working out so well. |

I do know that the Queen is that technologically savvy and thus your point further proves how ridiculous it was that she was given an IPOD because she had been happily using one (sans Obama speeches) for years! She didn't need the Obama's to bring her up to speed on technology. You give an IPOD to your 12 year old niece not the Queen of England!! Plus how utterly pompous of Obama to give a gift of his own speeches to a foreign dignitary. |

So what is your point exactly?? Please clarify. Are you calling for a communist revolution ie. Cuba (all you liberals seem to be so in love with Cuba and the Castro brothers these days)? Are you saying the US should give communism a try??? Have you read the Constitution lately? This nation is a democracy. Are you saying communism is a better system? Name one communist country that you would prefer to live in. Maybe YOU should update your passport. |

Definitely would prefer to have Obama in office if I were sitting hostage in a Somali lifeboat. Hmmm...... Oh and by the way, to all you folks out there who don't like the direction the country is heading in: As one pp said, hope your passport is current. And America, love it or leave it! Gosh, that felt good. I've been wanting to say that for years!

I love the POTUS, and am relieved that McCain isn't the president at such a crazy time in history. I love Obama's willingness to talk to the public like they're grownups.
I don't agree with all the decisions and actions taken so far, but I hope for the best. |
