A handful? Around 20% of FCPS 7th graders are taking Algebra 1. Mt Vernon offers nothing for them as seniors

This is false. You simply have a particular math sequence in mind you're not seeing at Mt. Vernon. Doesn't mean they can't take math/science electives.

You could go to WSHS and take Nutrition and Wellness, Film Study, or Sports Leadership, none of which sound more rigorous (just less tasty) than a culinary elective.

Thank you. I went to a couple in person meetings, and it was quite clear that the vast majority of residents and families opposed boundary changes. I’ve heard outcry over the mere prospect of changes, but the board has not seen a fraction of what will come when they announce the maps.
