Just remember:
Republicans all lined up behind Kyle Rittenhouse after he murdered two people, because he thought they were rioting or looting or something, and apparently that is just fine to be considered a capitol offense deserving of on-the-spot execution. And they called Rittenhouse a victim. But take a REAL victim, like a 12-year-old girl who's been violently raped and impregnated and now carrying the baby to term could kill her, and you make her out to be a monster and a murderer. Republicans are complete hypocrites. |
I don’t think they’re hypocrites so much as they’re monsters. |
Incredibly powerful ad from Democracy 2025.
“If I need my country to stand for anything, I need it to stand for these women.” |
I just don’t understand how someone could have the information presented in this video and still say a total abortion ban is better for anyone. |
I’m going to keep saying it because it’s the relevant bit: women aren’t people in the GOP. They don’t care who gets hurt so long as women are getting punished because we don’t matter to them. Look at the way JD talks about women. Look at the way Donald treats women in addition to talking about women “bleeding from their wherever.” |
I get that, as a whole, the Republican Party has that vibe. I’m talking about individual people. I’m from a small town in the south, ultra conservative. I’ve had conversations like this with individual people and I can’t think of a single man who would say it’s better that his wife or daughter die with the fetus rather than have a life saving abortion. I can think of a few women who were so opposed they say they wouldn’t kill their baby to save themselves but I don’t think they’d really refuse a life saving abortion if the fetus couldn’t survive anyway. That’s what I’m saying-given these real world examples, how can a person say these states are on the right path? I just don’t get it. |
That's because they don't care about anyone but themselves and don't think it will ever happen to them because they better than the women who might need an abortion. https://joycearthur.com/abortion/the-only-moral-abortion-is-my-abortion/ |
^^^ we all know this. The only moral abortion is my abortion.
If every woman told her story the maga women would have killed more of their babies. Guaranteed. |
Oh for sure. I have never been able to find it again but stats I read once said that conservative women have abortions at slightly higher rates than normal women. Theirs are just special-er somehow. |
They would all be running to the closest state where it is legal if they had the time. |
I used to roll my eyes when I heard stuff like this. But over the past decade or so, it has seemed more and more true. When I read the above post I thought, “Yeah. That’s pretty much it.” Makes me sad. It also makes me never, ever want to smile and play nice again. |
Really well done. Hard to watch. God, these policies are cruel. |
I’m the one who keeps saying it on the abortion threads, but I challenge anyone to prove otherwise. When faced with evidence of the early damage (for the long term damage won’t begin to be seen for a while) their forced birther policies are causing, the GOP answer is to ignore it. The only time they treat rape with any seriousness is when it’s alleged to have been done by immigrants or LGBTQ people. They have a steady stream of crap for Vice President Harris is unfit, but the subtext is always “she’s a woman.” Their big political wishes include taking away women’s right to vote, birth control, ending no fault divorce, generally forcing women out of the public and into the home. Their two duo loathe women with every fiber of their being, with JD constantly being caught in some recent-ish tape of him saying how terrible women are in various ways. Women aren’t people in the GOP. |
A bit of good news - man who sued 3 who helped his ex get abortion has dropped his claim.
One of the Texas Supreme Court justices had called attention to the guy’s “disgracefully vicious harassment and intimidation of his ex-wife.” But you know this will happen again. Men want to control women and that is what these draconian laws across our nation are about. This is what they enable. This is what Trump has wrought by being responsible for overturning RvW. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2024/10/11/texas-man-abandons-suit-against-women-he-claimed-helped-ex-wife-get-abortion/ |
