I'm sick and DH has early tee time---who brings DD to school tomorrow?

Anonymous
DD's school opens at 7:00. DH has an early tee time but would still be able to make it since DD's school is on his route. I haven't been feeling well and tonight I have a fever of 101, have chills and aches and am generally miserable.

DH says it's no big deal for me to get up, get DD dressed and drive her to school. I think DH should do it so that I can sleep and not have to expose DD (and her classmates and teachers) to my germs.

I'll probably end up doing it, but I'm feeling annoyed. What would happen in your family?

A compromise could be that he gets her ready and you drive.

I would take DD to school.

DH here. Unless he's golfing with the President, if your husband does anything other than volunteer to drop DD off on his way to his game he's being an ass.

Your husband could take her without missing his tee time, but you should do it anyway even though you're sick because he doesn't feel like it? What am I missing here that would make that not a dick move?

She should get her ready and take her to school. He should cancel golf and come home and take care of you.

Honestly, the hard part is getting up when you're sick so I don't see how that would help OP.

Yeah I don't get this. It wouldn't affect his time?

This. My dh would cancel his tee time if I was sick and dd would have to wake up earlier than usual to be dropped off on his way. If 7 wasn't early for her, than he'd do it even if I wasn't sick.

Me too. We're both really busy and I think it's nice when my spouse can get away to golf. I wouldn't want to ruin it and I can certainly rally for an hour.

OTOH, my spouse would do it so that I didn't have to get up when I wasn't feeling well.

Just out if curiosity, if the situation was reversed, and he was the one home sick, and you were the one with the early appointment, what would happen?

Why? So he can stare at her while she sleeps off her fever and aches? That sounds brilliant.

Same here. But I would still do my best to take DD to school.

Am I the only one trying to figure out why the kid gets driven to school instead of taking a bus?

I would take DD. I have many times before for reasons including and aside from illness. -OP
