I'm sick and DH has early tee time---who brings DD to school tomorrow?

DH says it's no big deal for me to get up, get DD dressed and drive her to school. I think DH should do it so that I can sleep and not have to expose DD (and her classmates and teachers) to my germs.

I'll probably end up doing it, but I'm feeling annoyed. What would happen in your family?

Am I the only one trying to figure out why the kid gets driven to school instead of taking a bus?

I'm guessing preschool.

+1 it's on the way!!! It doesn't matter that you're sick.

It is July. I assume "school" is a daycare.

In our family we would compromise. I (DH) would get up a little early to make sure I'm ready to leave early. My DW would get our children up and get them down to breakfast while I'm in the shower. I'd come down after getting dressed and would take over at the breakfast table and she would go back to bed, so she'd only have to be up 15-30 minutes and then back to bed. I'd finish up breakfast, clean up and get them to school on the way to my whatever (which would not be golf, since I don't golf). We would split the morning routine and get them out as early possible so that they could get to school and I could get to the early scheduled event.

Another DH here. I'm having a really hard time seeing why anything other than this is the right answer.

If you have a fever, you sleep in and get better. He covers and deals. How is this even a question?

I was a SAHM when mine were little, so they weren't in daycare. But I can tell you with absolute certainty that my DH would not only cancel a golf game, but probably take the day off to stay at home and help me. Obviously it isn't always possible to miss work, but he sure as hell wouldn't go golf and expect his sick wife to take care of the kids.

Who cares. One of you will bring her. Why are you asking us?

I thought this was going to be a situation where your DH legitimately couldn't drop her off at all.

If it's on his way, I'm not sure why he isn't doing it whether you are well or sick. At least the drive part. Maybe you could get her ready and he could drive her?

No kidding. He should definitely take her.

In my house DH would take her. Without question.

I had a fever a month ago. I could barely move. DH would have had to do drop off. If you can get the kids up and ready for 15 minutes and out the door, great. If not, then DH will need to do it.

My DH would take my kid no question. When one of us is sick, the other steps up. No question. Can't even understand this.

Excuse me, while I send my DH, a burgeoning, a link of this thread and tell him "NO F-ING WAY!!"
