There is not one man for every woman

Simple math:
Slightly more boys than girls are born, but by age 20, the balance is equal. After than, the available pool of men drops quickly.
There are more practicing homosexual men than women, and men are more likely to be incarcerated than women. Also, men die earlier partly because of risk taking, job related mishaps, and disease.
So when women take on this position that there are always more fish in the sea, we need to be careful, that idea could be reckless.
So what do we do? I know the men are having a blast t with the numbers. The way some men treat women, it is clear that they've figured it out.
Does anyone have any suggestions about how a woman in her early 50s should conduct herself knowing these numbers? On this forum, there are so many suggestions that women dump men, just like that. But has anyone thought of the consequences? I am not suggesting that women put up with crazy mean jerks. And to be honest, when I see a divorced man, I assume that the wife probably had very good reason to kick him out.

It's worse than that. Most of the women won't even look at a good chunk of the men.

I assume we're talking about a partner with whom you are willing to have sex -- because that's where the gender specificity comes in. It's common to have friends of either gender. Men generally have a broader range of tastes when it comes to sex partners.

Completely disagree. There are always more men out there than women. Online? Mostly men. Bars? Mostly men. Sports events? Mostly men. Women generally have long lists of requirements that exclude alot of men.

I think you should get divorced if you think you'll be better off without your husband, not because you want to replace him with someone better.

It's easy for Internet strangers to recommend divorce. Doesn't mean it's the right decision.

There are so few decent single men in their 50s out there, that I would just focus on myself, my family and friends, and enjoying life. Why waste time and energy on a huge pile of losers.

So we men die earlier and are incarcerated more ... And this is a problem for ... Women? On behalf of men, I don't apologize.

I think if you go to Alaska or Montana or somewhere like that, you'll find the ratio of men to women will favor women. However, whether the quality of men is desirable is a question mark.

Same for countries like India or China, if you are willing.

No, the issue is that women, whether working class or middle/upper class want a powerful breadwinner who at the same time his kind, considerate, and will take out the garbage. Not a lot of those guys around.

Women have all the power. They get to choose. To say there are no decent 50 something men is just a convenient excuse. I know plenty that are decent
