Probably so they didn’t have to monitor political/medical commentaries by readers on all sides of debates. Doing so would’ve interrupted them while trying to maximize their time spent together.

Many have noted he is primarily surrounded by white people and especially white women in his personal life. He also loves Broadway. He likely does not watch NFL or even know about Damar. Unless Jen told him, as she is a football fan. But it’s unlikely that they’ve spoken, sooooooooo

Meanwhile Brandon+Tina have been in full wedding and holiday mode with the kids, gone on a beach vacation, and are dining lakeside at sunset before moving into a beautiful new home together. I don’t think it’s exactly what Jen was hoping to create with Tyler, but it’s probably closer to what she imagined than what she’s actually gotten. If you’re Jen or Tyler, where do you even go from here? What would be the next move?

I agree that doesn’t sound like what Jen was going for at all. Maybe a temporary live-in boyfriend situation in NYC where she and Tyler both relocate for a semester to document their life together (for some sort of pay of course) and maybe do an adjunct professor thing at a college there before heading back to separate lives in Austin and Nashville. Then blame the breakup on it not working out after being roommates, but they’re still each other’s biggest fans and will always have NYC. I would love to hear what class each of them would volunteer to teach if offered college students’ attention for a semester.

She’s doing fine I think. Her books aren’t real bestsellers anymore, only brief entries into sub lists like How To and Miscellaneous hardcovers, but she had enough other revenue streams to keep going awhile. The podcast, speaking engagements, the book club. She’s surviving but not flying high like she used to. Remember right after the divorce she had to sell the lake house very fast.

Texas is a community property state and I assumed she had to sell the lake house to buy out Brandon's share of the equity in the Buda house. Since they got married ridiculously young I'm assuming there was no pre-nup. A post-nup seems unlikely too - even though Jen was probably bringing in the lion's share of the income by the end. Which had to burn to pay him with what her own work bought.

Had to burn - but is also totally fair. Someone had to be at home taking care of their 5 (5!) children while she was working and traveling. By her own admission, Brandon took care of everything. He deserves half, just like every stay at home mom would.

Yeah, had her happened 7-10 years before it did, then it would have been the divorce most women get: raising children without a co-parent. If she whines about stuff now, then I’m not sure how she would have handled that.

I think she should just go back and claim that Jennaissance thing and go try and live her life without desperately trying to find a mate. She hasn’t had that post-divorce glow up because she hasn’t really changed her course of life. She basically is dating another Brandon: someone who is emotionally unavailable to her. She needs to figure out why she wants something on paper but another thing in reality. Holding up the worst parts of ourselves for scrutiny is difficult but if she’s not willing to do that then she’ll just be stuck. I don’t even see her as an almost 50 year old woman. She comes across as around 25 emotionally.
