I watched as much of her end of year recap as I could. I wax and wane between feeling sorry for her and not. She truly is one of those people who I think is clueless. She said she’s in love with Tyler and gushed about the relationship. Sis, you need to run from that relationship. Just when she garners my sympathy, she gets ultra preachy and high horsey about ridiculous things. She started preaching about how it’s okay to be single. No shit Sherlock. This is not revelatory. She truly thinks she’s busting out these nuggets of wisdom that are rocking people’s worlds. It’s so off putting.

Tyler, Jen, Sarah B, the Hollis’, Glennon, all of them. Thoroughly mediocre thinkers regurgitating the same common borrowed “wisdom” and spewing it out like they are dispensing pearls of precious wisdom. They think they’re all so precious and special because they got a book deal or were on an afternoon TV show no one watches once or twice. It’s not much of a “reward” to sell ones soul for but it’s enough for some people.

It’s because she lives in an echo chamber where her followers gush over any post and her dad still tells her she’s the most special person alive. Ppl should feel supported, loved and belonging in their homes but her dad has done her a considerable misservice and makes it’s difficult for any Man to compare. She’s spent her whole life thinking she’s above average and it’s hard to realize almost everyone is really average.

Oh she works hard. I know. She writes, a little, curated Instagram and Facebook posts, works with her team on content, lined up interviewees for her podcast, negotiates media appearances, writes the occasional speech or sermon, deals with the Legacy and book club, etc.

She’s definitely a hard worker. I’ll
Never fault her for that.

It’s a shame, though, that the output is so toxic and soul corroding.

Do you think her followers have shrunk drastically in numbers? Compared to some other influencers, her following isn't that great. She has 571k followers. Rachel Hollis has 1.5M. Even the dreaded Heidi Powell has more followers at 554k. For someone who has written so many books, etc. she seems to be shrinking in the influencer world.

She’s doing fine I think. Her books aren’t real bestsellers anymore, only brief entries into sub lists like How To and Miscellaneous hardcovers, but she had enough other revenue streams to keep going awhile. The podcast, speaking engagements, the book club. She’s surviving but not flying high like she used to. Remember right after the divorce she had to sell the lake house very fast.

I tend to think Glennon is a little different than the others. Look at the work her organization does? And look how she puts herself out there with what she is currently struggling with. I'm not seeing many doing that.

I don’t know her but she must be a really fascinating person since this thread is always at the top, and it’s one of the longest-running. She’s doing something right, I guess (if her goal is infamy).

Big Sis is sort of under the radar because she never rose to the heights of some of the others like Rachel Hollis or Gkennon Doyle but is still very interesting to those who know the basic saga of her story.

She’s so incredibly unselfaware but at the same time so sure if her amazingness and good moral virtue despite a totally hypocritical and toxic message than some of us can’t look away. It’s interesting to see how it plays out and also cathartic to witness someone so horrible get her needed comeuppance.

Her haters are small but passionate as Big Sis doesn’t even allow for the slightest pushback or criticism on the socials. Hence the popularity of this humble little thread.
