So where did all the kids inbounds for Brent waitlisted for PK3 end up?

So not to stir up trouble, but I'm very curious. Where did all the kids inbounds for Brent who were waitlisted end up? Are most at Appletrees or did they find potentially permanent schools like Mundo Verde and Logan Montessori?

Van Ness booster in 3-2-1....

OP, I almost said Appletree or Van Ness implying Van Ness wouldn't be a permanent thing, but I stopped myself!

Rumor has it that 14 or 15 of of the 42 or 43 who were rejected for PreK3 are heading to Van Ness and 9 or 10 to AppleTree LP. It seems that four or five are staying at the Hill Preschool. I've only heard of 1 or 2 starting at Mundo Verde.

This seems accurate from what I heard as well.

We're going to a private preschool because we're still wait listed at all the schools on our list, including vanness. We would have been happy with a seat there and the folks working to get that school opened and trying to make it successful deserve your respect. There's no need to be shitty.

Yeah, I agree. I am so sick of people posting about van ness boosters every time someone makes mention of the school. Give it a rest already and let people be excited about their new school and involved.

I think van ness and appletree are great options for 2 years until kindergarten.

Hmm, flippant would probably be a better descriptor than shitty. There was no real insult to Van Ness except the assumption that the IB Brent kids would return to Brent for K. And I assume many will. That cohort might end up pretty huge for Brent as most of the Appletree kids will return as well. The waitlisted cohort entering K this coming year dispersed to the winds with relatively few starting at Brent, leaving a fair number of spots for OOB kids. But so far this doesn't seem like the case for the rising PK3 group.

There also seems to be a lot less bitterness with this new waitlisted group. Maybe because ALL non-sibs were waitlisted and they knew that would happen going into the lottery. Van Ness being there so close by is huge too.

Doubtful there are that many actually attending Van Ness or Appletree LP (perhaps waitlisted though). I think they are also spread out at Appletree SW/OK, Eagle Academy and I know at least 1 family attending Tyler.

But a lot of those kids had great and decent lottery numbers. They just weren't siblings. So I could see them at lots of sought after schools.

Yeah. I agree they don't seem as bitter. Perhaps because the principal sent out advanced notification before lottery to all making sure people planned on an alternative for PK3. I think that helped as that didn't happen 2 years ago.

Brent families are taking half of the seats at VN? This could present a pretty big shock to the system if most return to Brent after two years of PK.

The Mundo Verde WL is about a thousand names and miles long.

It's easier to get into Brent, idiot.

I wonder if this will be same issue next year with PK3 or if next year will be easier for IB kids without siblings to get in to brent?
