So where did all the kids inbounds for Brent waitlisted for PK3 end up?

I think Van Ness stands to benefit a lot from this. If the school attracts high and middle income families this first year, it will be an attractive option for more families in the next few years.

If Van Ness actually gets a lot of the kids in-bound for Brent, Van Ness will be one of the better Ward 6 elementary schools.

This is the reason we find the VN Booster tiresome.

Unless that school is SWS, for some reason.

God, give it a rest. SWS was only ever IB as part of the Cluster, and even then there was no right to go. It was never a true neighborhood school, and the deal with DCPS for SWS to go independent and grow the upper grades was that it had to be citywide. Exactly like Logan Montessori.

Just because a school is citywide doesn't mean there shouldn't be a proximity preference.

That is exactly what citywide means. No geographic preference.

Wouldn't someone with a number high enough for MV or LM, who was IB have gotten a spot at Brent?

MV went down their wait list pretty far this year, so that's not surprising.

AppleTree LP, then Maury.

Not ECE, but we gave up Brent for MV.

Why does Brent even have pk3?

Brent should not have PS3, period.

Here we go again...all the Hill schools have PK3. It's not going away, make the best of the next 2 years knowing that it's a lottery and your child didn't get in but will for K.

DCPS, ECE teachers and principal want it. Those who don't want it are pretty much powerless. And that's the name of that tune.

True. Let's move on. How many out of bound slots were offered for K seats this year? Any idea what wait list number they are at now for k?
