Joe Biden net worth between $39,000 and $800,000

Okay, that's a pretty big range but the point is that he is poor. I don't understand why he doesn't run for President. He would win, he is folksy, likeable, and once he brings out his net worth trump card it is all over for everyone else.

Learning this just makes me love him more

That's not poor. That means he has not yet saved up enough for his retirement.

That definitely makes him poor! He's like the average DC subarbanite except he's 65 years old!

I think he could center his platform around this and win. People are sick of billionaires telling them how to live.

I'm not sure of your logic here. I wouldn't vote for Joe. I find him repulsive, and his smirking manner at the debate with Ryan last election cycle means I don't think he'd represent this country well internationally. Having a net worth <$800,000 doesn't counter that and I'm not sure even the implication? He's been unable to save while making $250K (with a working wife) over the last 8 years and getting free lodging and most other things? Doesn't sound like a + column point.

Finally, you may remember most recent presidents and vice-presidents have left the office relatively humble. It's not until they get out, and into the cycle of making money speaking after they leave the office their net worth significantly jumps. Hillary is apparently commanding $275K for a speaking opportunity. Recently a college thought that was too high, so they brought in Chelsea for $65K (what exactly Chelsea, who was never POTUS, Senator, Secretary of State offers, who knows?).

A “low" net worth does not qualify someone to be president.
Nor does being “folksy.”

I love Joe Biden but I wouldn't vote for him.

He's been eligible for the highest level of Congressional pension for a long, long time, not to mention what he'll get for being VP and now commanding speaking fees. He's been a public servant since 29. I think it makes a lot of sense.

Apparently he is poor by DC standards...but...he shouldn't be. He has made a ton of money in his lifetime and according to his tax returns he isn't giving it to charity. http://taxhistory.tax.org/thp/presreturns.nsf/Returns/F791C2793D91AE0685257E230073EB07/$file/J_Biden_2014.pdf

He is 72 years old and will receive a very nice pension so it's possible he wants to retire and live out the rest of his days with his hot wife.

Poor guy so much personal tragedy and a low net worth.

He seems like the kind of guy to spend the money on his family. He is obviously also spending his own money for travel and trips which is ethical.

He's terrible, Hillary should've been picked. He's dumber than bush.
