People who just refuse to eat leftovers.

If this is you, what gives? My friend told me today that even if there is left over food. She won't re feed it to her family. Is this common? Seems so wasteful.

Me. I don't like most leftovers. But it's not wasteful, because DH and DC do, and growing up, my brothers did.

Oh well pp that's okay. At least the leftovers get eaten. I'm talking about entire families that just throw away 1/4 of a lasagna.

Oh for goodness sake. You made a lasagna. You have leftovers. You wrap it up and put it in the fridge. What kind of spoiled nut job wouldn't eat it the next day or the next? Yeesh.

We eat leftovers, and sometimes re-invent them in a new dish, but usually just eat them as is, reheated. The exception is when somebody tried something new, and it didn't work out, and the kids declare "Don't put this in my lunchbox!", DH says "OK, I'll finish it", and then it sits and sits in the fridge... until I discreetly throw it away. But that's a couple of times a year. I'm not *that* bad of a cook

It's great than others eat the leftovers. But what is wrong with them that you won't eat them?

People are spoiled. If you grew up poor, you don't hate leftovers.

It depends what kind of food it is.

Most fast food/restaurant food I don't like to eat leftovers.

I don't understand this either. At least two of my friends have husbands who refuse to eat leftovers. Guess who does the cooking? (Hint- it's not the husbands.) It's annoying to hear them complain about how they HAVE to make dinner every day because ___ won't eat leftovers. I always ask "How often does ___ make dinner? Or any meal?" The answer is always "never."

Why do women put up with this?! On day 1 of any of the above, my answer was "If you don't like what I'm doing, do it yourself."

Will never eat seafood as a leftover. Anything else is fine. Not as satisfying as the fresh meal, but fine.

I hated leftovers as a kid and really, up until a couple of years ago. Then I found out about wetting a paper towel and laying it gently over the food while microwaving it. That makes it taste MUCH better.

We do a leftover dinner on Friday nights, from the past few days, lunches and dinners. It's like a small plates type of meal. My kids love it.

Some foods don't reheat well (seafood, french fries, etc). Having said that, i make sure I don't over serve those foods that don't make for good left overs.

Half of my meals are 'leftovers'. I cook enough for two to three days at a time - either stuff that reheats easily or entrees that are easily supplented with a starch and vegetable. No complaints so far. I would go crazy if I had to cook a new meal every night. If the husband and kids complain, then I would suggest that they learn how to cook and feed YOU!

I'm a DW and I cook a fresh meal for all meals or we eat out. Mostly simple stuff on weeknights though I do like cooking elaborate meals at the weekends. Leftovers are gross
