Not a Trump fan at all--BUT he his brain is still working. Biden was dead as a doornail and the party gave us Harris-- a non-elected official that could not even win a senate seat on her own. The party is pathetic and run by yes-men strategists make money no matter what and they only listen to elite donors who are completely out of touch with what is going on in this country. As long as the party is reliant on this model nothing will be achieved.

I have no doubt that Trump has some real deficits, but:
1. Many of those deficits are just who he is and are not age-related
2. Most of his sociopathic self is still there

Trump is more dangerous than Biden because Trump is a sociopath. However, Biden was not fit to be president, should have stepped down, and that's completely on him and his inner circle. You can't blame Trump for that or get into whataboutism. Trump was just as unfit in 2017 as he is in 2025, but that's what his voters chose. Voters didn't choose the Biden described in these articles.

There are many folks to point fingers at for the disastrous elections of Trump and Biden and this INCLUDES the voters who nominated and elected them. Most adults are smart enough to know 80 year old people shouldn't be POTUS yet many of those smart enough to know better people were still somehow duped into thinking it was "okay". Well, it wasn't okay and now we have an unhinged president who took over for a senile president.

Slow clap for the ignorant American voters.

In 2024, in every state, on every ballot, there was a 60yo next to a 78 yo.

She wasn't given a fair chance due to her association with the extremely unpopular 81 year old sitting POTUS. Now it's Vance's turn to feel the wrath of being the VP of one of the most unpopular presidents ever. Harris, Pence, and Mondale know all about this wrath!

By the voters, who keep insisting that there was only a choice between two 80 yo’s. No, there was a younger woman who kept speaking out against Project 2025 and had the audacity to occasionally laugh.

Harris should have been elected, no doubt. This being said; anyone who knows anything about politics knows that when an unpopular incumbent has to be replaced by the VP of that unpopular incumbent so close to the election that the American people have no say in who the nominee is, that unfortunate soul being thrown in the mix at the last minute as the nominee has absolutely no chance of winning even when their opponent is as unfit and weak as Trump.

It's amazing how close the final result was all things being considered. If the GOP had nominated a normal candidate in 2024 like they used to pre-2016, that candidate would have secured 500 electoral votes and 70% of the popular vote

Or, option C: have the world’s richest man rig the election in your favor so he’ll make a hundred billion more.

You are referring to Zuckerberg and his dropping almost half BILLION dollars in 2020 for the democrats, right?

In the 2020 U.S. election, Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan donated around $400 million to nonprofits like CTCL and CEIR to help local election offices handle COVID-19 challenges. Critics argue the funds favored Democratic-leaning areas, with reports showing that over 90% of CTCL grants in key battleground states went to Biden-won counties.

Stop being so intellectually lazy.

I think both parties have become insane with how they defend their candidates and can't be open to criticism. i lost so much respect for democrats claiming Biden was fit and Harris was qualified. I have no respect for republicans who insist it's fine for Trump to accept gifts from Qatar (major sponsor of terrorism and apparently BFF with Iran) and cozy up to the new leader of Syria-a terrorist in a suit. They turn a blind eye to what has happened to the Druze and Christians.

I venture onto this forum now and then, but I find is gross how both sides can turn to insulting eachother and throwing around extreme words rather than engaging in open and respectful discussion. I miss the last century when we could discuss politics and disagree and you could have lively discussions with friends who's beliefs differ and nobody cancelled anyone.

The overly loyal sheep have been trained to think in an "us" vs "them" mentality. The folks behind the scenes responsible for crafting messages to be funneled through biased media sources have discovered that the best way to maintain their power is to keep the sheep divided by every means possible. Don't worry about what you're voting for, just make sure you vote against the evil other side. Way too many sheep have fallen for these messaging schemes hook, line, and sinker.

This illustrates my point when I talk about how 2 candidates can be equally bad candidates even though one's policies/political party may be preferable over another. Kamala would not have had Trump's weaknesses but it didn't make her a better candidate. This is why only having 2 candidates sucks. But I don't see any realistic opportunity for a 3rd party to be established in American politics as the stakeholders of each political party wants that "control" which you really can't have with anyone strong and competent in power! LOL

We will continue to have Trumps and Bidens in power until we figure out of way to wrestle the influence of money away from politics because you're right, the wealthy financial backers of our two parties want control and influence which are things legitimate national leaders keep to themselves.

Trump has an incompetent, unqualified, unethical, unprofessional cabinet full of grifters who don’t even believe in the Constitution or the rule of law.

The presidency is not a dictatorship. It’s a group project of experts and public servants who serve the president to carry out their agenda and policies. There are plenty of safeguards in a normal presidency. Trump is consolidating power and not even paying attention to what his incompetents are doing. That’s not normal in the US.

The age issue is just the outrage bait of the day. The important issue we’re facing is CORRUPTION. Pay attention.

This is a laughable statement. Mayorkas was not only incompetent - he lied repeatedly to Congress and the American people.
Jake Sullivan - a joke. And, don't get me started with Mayor Pete. Or, the HHS Secretary who didn't do squat.
I could go on about nearly every cabinet member and staff member. But, you get the idea.
I am SO GLAD they are gone. And, I am going to make it my goal to ensure they never return to government work.

Biden was for the most part just as Trump is acting as POTUS for the most now. That's the scary part. We've trusted elderly unfit people with processing tons of very important info from daily briefings 24/7 365 since Obama left office.

LOL.
There is no question about who is running the country with Trump in charge. None.
You may not like his policies or his actions, but to think that he is not running the show is laughable.

Biden, however, was clueless. Who was running the autopen? Who was making decisions?

Trump answers every question with “I don’t know anything about that” . And he uses an auto pen too.

You’re being played for a fool and used to make him richer.

Your bolded statement is provably false.
And, while all presidents use the auto pen...... they don't use it EXCLUSIVELY like Biden did his last year in office.
We know he didn't know what was going on.

We have this exchange as evidence:

"President Biden had no clue whether or not he signed a critical executive order during a conversation last year with Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson, who admitted he left the meeting fearing the nation is in “serious trouble.”

An addled Biden insisted to the Louisiana lawmaker that he never issued the order to freeze new liquid natural gas export permits — even though he signed off on it less than a month earlier.

Johnson told the Free Press’ Bari Weiss he didn’t believe Biden was lying, but was left to believe the then-81-year-old leader “genuinely didn’t know what he had signed.”

The troubling encounter happened in the Oval Office in early 2024, when the two met to discuss the latest aid package for Ukraine."

He didn't know he had signed the bill because he didn't.. His auto pen did - controlled by someone else.

Dean Phillips said this much earlier than everyone else, but no one voted for him.
You just had to vote for him in New Hampshire, and Biden would have dropped out like LBJ.

So, what do we make of the fact that the Democrats flagrantly lied for over a year about Biden's mental degeneration, even going as far as to claiming it was Russian disinformation?

At this point, I think we can safely say that it is true that an unelected cabal took over Biden's presidency because he was not able to govern.

How do we square this kind of power-hungry betrayal of voters and America with the claim that Democrats are defending democracy?

“Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House” by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes

“2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America” by Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager and Isaac Arnsdorf

“Uncharted: How Trump Beat Biden, Harris, and the Odds in the Wildest Campaign in History” by Chris

Revelations:

Vice President Kamala Harris' aides were so concerned about the president's health that they "strategized around the possibility that Biden might die in office." The authors report that Jamal Simmons, the vice president's communications director, drew up a “death-pool roster” of federal judges who could swear in Harris as president if Biden died.

Ron Klain, a longtime aide to Biden and his former White House chief of staff, helped the president prepare for his fateful debate with Trump last year. Klain told Whipple that Biden “didn’t know what Trump had been saying and couldn’t grasp what the back and forth was.”

Klain also described how Biden “didn’t really understand what his argument was on inflation” and “had nothing to say about a second term other than finish the job.”

Klain viewed Biden, then 81, as “out of it” and even “half-seriously” worried that Biden thought he was “president of NATO.”

You Democrats who perpetuated this fraud on the American people won’t recover in our lifetime from your evil deeds.

Of course they will. People will believe the next story as if this never happened.

All the more reason Trump and Biden should have never been "leader" of the free world. Hopefully we've all learned our lesson by now. POTUS is an extremely important and powerful job not meant for people who aren't up to the mental challenges.

That's the point of Tapper's book- to absolve the media and other Democrats of their actions on behalf of Joe Biden and the Democrats.

Who will absolve the 155 million gullible voters who were duped into casting votes for Trump and Biden in 2020? Not me!

According to the latest reporting on Joe Biden's health, the media's standard operating procedure is to believe what politicians tell them. There is no independent judgment. They will not report anything contrary to what they are told by White House staffers.

Biden's mental health is on par with most people his age which means he has no business anywhere near The White House. Guess what? He isn't because we got rid of him. Now we have another elderly unfit person in The White House until 2029. Comedy of errors by American voters but I'm not laughing. Do better people!
