Faye Nemer, CEO and founder of the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) American Chamber of Commerce in Dearborn, Michigan, called the video "offensive and counterproductive to peace talks" in a statement to NPR.

Nemer, who says she voted for Trump in November, is calling on him to remove the video and issue a "reconciliatory statement."

When asked about the video and the president's messaging about Gaza, the White House reinforced his previous statements.

IMO the Muslims who cared about Gaza who did not support Biden are the ultimate FAFO. We warned them over and over that Trump was going to be worse for Gaza than Harris, but they did not want listen. They FAFO.

+1 They can FRO.

This I have some friends who live in Michigan and I have absolutely zero compassion for anyone of Middle Eastern descent or anyone who cared about Palestine and voted for Trump.. ... They were very simplistic and short-sighted in their vote and I really do not care what happens to them or Gaza at this point

+1. They should play that Gaza resort spot over and over on large billboards. Maybe erect a large, gold statue of Trump in Dearborn.

Ryleigh Cooper from Michigan believed Trump when he said he would make IvF free and voted for him. Instead, she’s now a federal worker without a job.

I hate cultist Trump supporters but this woman's story is heartbreaking, she did it for free IVF, having struggled with fertility issues I can imagine she thought this was her only hope as Trump promised free IVF. I wish I could help her somehow, she wasn't your usual mean and looking out for revenge Trump voter.

I have feel bad for the idiots who fell for his lies but there were plenty of red flags and morning signs and people were yelling from the rooftops that he could not be trusted and there was no way it was going to be free. He said it would be free in one speech and he was going to ban it in the next if you hitched your cart to that horse. I'm sorry you deserve to get pulled into the mud

I don’t even feel bad for them anymore. I feel bad for the ones who saw the red flags and lies and were shouting from the rooftops, yet are also “pulled into the mud” because people like Ryleigh didn’t listen to them. Instead, she chose to listen to a known liar who changed his tune on a regular basis.

Anyone who still belief Trumps lies in 2024 deserves what they get. I feel sorry for them because they are delusional and Republicans will screw them over any way they can.

Much like Ryleigh, I couldn't afford to do IVF or pursue adoption with the pay from my federal job, but I'm certainly didn't believe a con man when he said it might be free.

Trump and Musk lie every time they take a breath and the Republican party just goes along with it.

She is 24. Did she vote for him the first time around? he didn't come through on any of his promises that time either. He gave tax cuts to the rich.

And that is going to be his main legislative focus this time as we have already seen. He already showed you who he was and you just refused to listen.

She wasn’t old enough to vote for him 8 years ago.

Cry me a river, lady. You voted this nightmare into power.

Prior to the election, I read a quote from someone in Michigan who said that he believed that Harris was going to win — so he voted for Trump, somehow believing that the defection from the Democratic Party would give his community power that would force Harris to change her stance on Gaza and Israel to appease these powerful voters. Yeah: FAFO

She’s 24. She can’t possibly have been struggling with infertility for many years. She should get a real job with benefits that cover a few months of IVF. Stupid people shouldn’t have babies anyway.

What about her fed job was not “real”?

Interesting that on this thread there is compassion for a 20 something white woman who voted for Trump because she struggles with infertility, which is something that a lot of people on this board have experienced.

But no compassion for people who may have had dozens of friends and family members killed in Gaza and voted for Trump in the hope of a hail mary that it would stop the killing of the people that they love.

Exactly this. Maga who are willing to burn this country to the ground so that they can get their one freebie. Selfish. What happened to being the anti-handout party?

Well, i'm one of those who's celebrating. And no! not all of us have lost our sense of perspective and humanity. In fact, it was precisely our sense of humanity that drove us some of us to do whatever we could to avoid this disaster. However, we were met with scorn, hostility and , dare i say, anticipatory excitement from those who were eager to inflict their cruelty on others...or so they thought.
To the federal workers and contractors who didn't vote for this gargantuan orange piece of mediocrity, i say i'm truly sorry. But, to the MAGA federal workers, i wish nothing but the same hardship (or more) and cruelty they were excitedly looking forward to see inflicted on their imaginary enemies.

No, this is cruel and disrespectful. You folks who think this is humane are sick.

Cry more. Empathy isn't a one way street. When you tell people: 'f*ck your feelings'. Be prepared to receive the same in return.

We're sick of having to be the ones who save our Republican butts from yourselves and then have you attack us for it and say "f your feelings".

Well, "f your feelings too" and have the day / month / year you voted for instead this time.

I mean Canadians are pretty nice people and y'all have pissed them off so royally that they are intentionally targeting red states. And, as someone else who doesn't anger quickly, I can assure you that once people like us get angry, they hold a grudge for years. Good luck with that.

Yup most democrats I know are caring empathetic people to a fault. The ones I know are angry and done with people who voted for this. You get what you voted for-enjoy losing freedoms and worshiping a moron that despises you and could care less about your family.
