I find it kind of gross that some Democrats biggest argument against deportation is “who will do [insert crappy job],” which telegraphs that they don’t regard these people as anything other than cheap labor to subsidize their privileged lifestyle. It’s the same rationale they use to advocate for not combatting the trade imbalances with China. If a bunch of working class people in the Rust Belt end up homeless and on opioids when a factory closes and moves overseas it’s worth it to them if they can save $100 on a flat screen TV. It a disgusting, anti human worldview. |
Cringe. The people acting tough on the internet are almost always 150lb soaking wet with zero ability to fight, including "lifelong pew pew aficionados". Cue the "I'm actually 260lb with 12% bodyfat and a mixed martial artist" clap back that I'm sure you will come up with ![]() |
This is more indicative of how your brain works. The dems want to provide paths to citizenship for people who left bad situations and came to America for economic and safety reasons. By pointing out that they are doing these low paid, vital jobs, we are recognizing the important contributions they make to our economy despite not even being eligible for many taxpayer benefits. It is dems who want to streamline citizenship and improve access to affordable healthcare, a liveable wage, etc. Not just kick them out of our country. The Rs are absolutely beside themselves at the thought of undocumented immigrants being given any opportunities to move out of these off the books low wage jobs. Also what exactly have conservatives done to stop the closing of factories? And are you really suggesting only liberals are buying cheap electronics from China? Get real. The whole Republican agenda is built on things being unaffordable, you think the MAGA crowd is voting for Trump in the hopes that labor conditions will improve in China so their goods cost more? |
Unfettered illegal immigration does not coincide with a healthy, stable social safety net or programs like universal healthcare. If you offer generous social welfare programs to everyone who can get across our borders our country would look like Greece in 10-20 years tops because it’s not financially feasible. You do know that, don’t you? Europeans have more generous social welfare programs than us and are moving to the far right because the influx of immigrants is jeopardizing these programs for the native born population. You can have generous social welfare programs or illegal immigration, but not both. I’d rather take care of our people with a generous social welfare program and not jeopardize it and give space to the far right by refusing to crack down on illegal immigration. -Biden Voter |

Agree 100%. We need immigrants from all of the world as much as they need us. Once the southern border is fully secured and our immigration/asylum laws are reformed, we should have the capacity to welcome millions of documented immigrants annually from Central and South America in equal proportions to immigrants from the rest of the world. |

Sometimes I genuinely wonder how many of the genuinely hysterical posts on threads like this are trolling versus serious. |
